When I went to feed him, he followed me down the attic stairs afterwards. There is a door at the bottom so I let him out for a wander again - he did a wee in Kylie's tray on the landing and then was bounding around on the 1st floor  :Luv2: - there are 3 steps up to the master bedroom and he kept launching himself up them  :Luv2:

A few snaps from this morning. Our boy is beginning to fill out well.

He loves his grub  :Luv2:

I am going to ask the vet to look at his eye again. It doesn't seem to bother him but still a tiny bit watery. The vet is coming to do Alice & Kylie's vacs on Wednesday, also to give Laz a once-over.

didnt know you could get Felix supermeat  :-:

It is quite a weird texture - like a thin pate but also has chunks in it. No cereals/soya.

Max's fur was the same, jet black in certain lights, then almost a chocolate brown in others  :Luv2:

Is it just the light or does his fur have a red tinge to it?

I call it coca-cola colour  :evillaugh: - he looks black until the light shines through. Willow's fur was like that.  :Luv2:

He seems really chirpy but we are still on poo watch. I know it is impossible to know but given that it is bulked, he doesn't seem to produce as much as I would expect. He has a good appetite so that is probably a good pointer.

He seems to like the felix supermeat pouches with added water so I am off to stock up in a minute before the offer ends  :evillaugh:

It is easy to add water & peridale to supermeat and I read than there is some connection between canned food and hyper-t so I won't be buying any more canned food (I'm sure aluminium cans are fine - steel ones are the issue)

My mum was telling me recently about my sister's neighbour who she previously thought was a nice woman who go 2 kittens with an existing elderly indoor cat. The cat wasn't happy having the kittens around so she decided to make the old cat live outside  >:( - she was dead withing 2 weeks  :'(

It's funny how we can feel so lucky to have a cat that someone else is quite happy to dump.

I know Mark, I usually think that with my oldies.  Like when we adopted Smokey and Timmy the most adorable cats I just could never have let those two go - I'm glad the owner did though they were so loved by us   :Luv: and our little Peppy Pot who was going to be pts  :(

How on earth have I managed to miss this thread?

Lazarus is just lovely...glad to hear he's responding so well to your round the clock nursing!  Also pleased that someone else is a peridale convert - Dinah used to have it to help with her twiggy poos and it worked brilliantly :evillaugh:

and ain't that the truth!  The last pic you posted makes Lazarus look much younger Mark and our little man (rescued by a canal) is just the image of him.  You are very lucky indeed to have such a handsome fluffball around the place.  Groucho sleeps with OH as he is only allowed out between 9am and 4pm.  As Freddie is very very needie, I get the company of the rest except Dinah who no longer graces the upstairs with her presence.  The lack of snoring is indeed a great bonus ...... for OH  :evillaugh:

BTW Groucho doesn't mind being left alone at all which we sometimes do if we are going out and he is in a boisterous mood.  He is always curled up fast asleep when we return usually giving us a dirty look for waking him up  :shify:

I PROMISE to take more  :evillaugh:. My old camera's battery does after about 20 shots and it isn't worth buying a new battery. I am hoping to find my other one or better still, persuade OH to get a decent SLR one. I will take the camera up in a minute. Dare I say he is like Willow in lots of ways (no peeing though  :evillaugh: ) and it can be quite 'challenging' having a cat perched on you whenever you are still for a minute. I woke up at 5am (after going to sleep at 2am) with a fluffy face staring at me from about 2"  :evillaugh:

Oh and btw, there was a nice log waiting for me up there 1/2 hour ago.  :)

and Ruth, you never did get to see Alice so if you have the time whenever you are in London, you are always welcome here

I could be wrong but I don't remember seeing this photo on the thread - probably the best likeness  :Luv2:

Ditto. Means we get lots of pictures. ;)

And hopefully a decent camera to take them with  :evillaugh:

My basic canon is still missing and I am still using my ancient ixus with a tiny screen - there is also a long delay taking a photo so most are rubbish.

He is that  :Luv2:

I have another dilemma tonight - OH is away on business in Dublin. I know Lazarus can't be left but I feel really bad for Kylie - since OH has been sleeping in the attic room with him, Kylie has started sleeping on the bed with me (on a donut bed) every night.

Would it be really awful to say that it is quite a nice arrangement  (lets just say Kylie doesn't snore :shy:  :evillaugh:)

Can i just ask where you got your peridale granules and RC intense hairball dry food?

Both from VetUK - I checked and they are the cheapest. Still annoying that something that probably cost pennies to make is £15 for 175g - some online places charge £20+ so vets much charge even more.

I like the fact that my vet wanted to start simple. Although I wasn't given any advice, I think the extra water is really important and probably AS important as the bulking. I didn't think Cistapride was available any more.

From my own experience having chronic IBS, the consultant told me that regular laxative use weaken the muscles so should be avoided if at all possible.

On a brighter note - His favourite place to eat is the window ledge. He is quite capable of jumping up there but waits for me to lift him up - even though I see him several times a day - it hit me tonight how much heavier he is in just 12 days - he is even getting a little paunch  :Luv2:

Also a bitter-sweet thing - he started off very needy and trailed me around like a lost lamb. After he had eaten tonight, he went under the bed to have a wash rather than trot back to me. I know it is a good thing but at the same time, choked me a bit  :shy:
