...and here's the other side of Lily. When she's not up to no good, she's curled up asleep often, as here, on me, hence the lower quality photos. First I had to find my phone without disturbing her, then twist into contortions to take the pictures!

More mischief from Lily. Bramble only wanted a bit of peace and quiet!

Lily's only reaction to the Effipro flea treatment was to be even more insistent on being fed treats, to the point of stopping me using my keyboard completely!

It changes according to the light. Sometimes she looks blue grey, others more of an orange tinge.
Staff at the vet couldn't agree, but several people here have suggested dilute tortoiseshell. She certainly has tortitude, so I'm going with that for now!
I've started buying big bags of cooked pieces of chicken, and I take a few pieces out of the freezer to thaw in time for my dinner, so there's something to distract Lily from my plate. I now have to take out extra for Bramble, who has decided, after watching Lily, that it's safe to take food from my hand. Bramble is still nervous though, so I didn't risk startling her with a camera flash. Lily isn't nervous at all, in like a shot!

Somewhere there was a question about Lily's colour. I don't know if an answer was found. But if it wasn't, I think she's a blue tabby.

Sunday being roast chicken day, as usual, Lily pestered me for scraps, then seemed  not to want any more. Then Clio decided she wanted some, which didn't impress Lily at all, judging from the filthy look she gave me!

She may have a twin: http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,46208.msg834120.html#msg834120

From what Paula said, Pippa seems to be a bit shy, so I imagine it was difficult to get that photo, and it's a bit dark, but she looks very like Lily.

Lily and Bramble had me worried earlier. They appeared to be fighting, but it was soon obvious they were playing. I tried to get some photos, but they were too far away and the wrong side of a glass door, so this is the best I could do:

I tried creeping up on them to get a better shot, but they had other ideas, and played innocent!

Thanks, though she's very photogenic, so she deserves a fair bit of the credit!
Roast chicken day again. I put a piece of chicken by the side of the plate for her, and handed her a bit of it whenever she got a bit close to my plate. I was a bit slow while I was taking this photo, but she didn't even try to eat my dinner, concentrating her stare on her own food instead!

They soon learn habits from watching others. My Gracie knows the clicking of clipped claws means a treat afterwards. Even if they aren't her claws she will always come and do the staring act until the victim's claws are clipped and she knows it's treat time.

Lily is definitely having an effect on the other two! First Bramble, staring at me while I was eating my dinner, now Clio standing on her back legs and grabbing the chicken out of my hand. Both habits unseen until Lily arrived!

Well done on the research. I couldn't find a reason not to give frozen food. Though it makes sense. Even though old and ill people in hospital get fed the regulation jelly and ice cream all the time! But as regards to cats eating frozen, I certainly wouldn't worry about it. I think (hopefully) most cat owners with a cat with health problems would not think of offering anything that might upset their stomachs.

Lily will eat anything, including curry. I have to be careful not to let her near it, because it has a lot of onion (well mine do!) She also chases dogs. I don't think she realises she's a cat!
I've just found something that gives a reason not to give cats cold food. It may upset their stomach, apparently, but I think that's really just for cats with delicate stomachs, like old cats, or very young kittens,  so I don't think I'll worry too much.

The only reason not to give cats frozen food is that it doesn't smell like warm food does. So they tend to leave it as they don't recognise it as food. But it won't harm them, any more than giving a child an ice cream. Cats being fussy usually turn their noses up at frozen food. But if Lily likes it, then it certainly won't harm her. Dogs are the ones that go for frozen treats rather than cats. But then most dogs are greedy and will eat anything!
Julie.

Here is a link to frozen pet treats. They say cats and dogs. But I think cats would turn their noses up at most of them.

She loved it, but then she'll eat practically anything!
I have it in the back of my mind that you're not supposed to give cats cold food though, so I think I'll hold off for now, at least until I've done a bit of research. I'll just have to remember to take some out of the freezer a bit earlier for the time being.

I keep some cooked strips of chicken in the freezer, and take a few out in the morning to give them to the cats in the evening. It's particularly useful to distract Lily while I close the door, so she doesn't run outside when I'm trying to shut her in for the night.
I forgot today, so I had to use a still frozen piece, hoping that Lily wouldn't notice until it was too late.
She didn't care! She played with it a bit longer than usual, but that was all. She still ate it.
I don't think I should make a habit of giving her frozen food, but as a one off it was funny!

I've never known a cat quite as trusting as Lily, who will stay put even if it looks as if I'm about to step on her. It's a wonder I haven't yet!. She's the complete opposite of Bramble, who will scarper if I move an inch in her direction! (Though Bramble will come to me looking for attention if I'm walking away  .)
