Ducha is Ok and they are touching noses but the other two are miserable about being stopped from using two rooms that they think are theirs.

He is being neutered tomorrrow, however I suspect that Misa and Sasa are not going to like him much so it will be tolerance only thing.......sigh

My main prob at present is needing that microchip reading flap so all can go every where except kitchen.

He is very fast and ingenious and if he makes a break for the cat flap he would be gone and thats in the kitchen.

If I could get that sorted then I would encourage Misa and Sasa to try and meet him.

I don't know about Birmans but Somalis are slow growing/maturing (don't reach full size until about 4 years old) and Mosi was so  much smaller as a kitten than Jaffa ever was.  I remember being surprised the first time I saw him at about 10 weeks as he was tiny.  When I got him home at 14 weeks he was about the size Jaffa was at 8 weeks.  He did continue to grow slowly and wasn't at his full height, let alone full muscular size, until at least 3 years old.  So I suspect Lupin has an awful lot of growing to do and will be nowhere near being full grown like a moggy would be at that age.  It surprised me how much Mosi grew in years 2 and 3.  The breeder told me he would be quite a big cat and I did wonder whether she'd got it wrong because he seemed quite a bit smaller than Jaffa by about age 2.  But every now and then when they stood side by side, I'd notice that Mosi seemed taller!  He didn't fill out properly - in his face and general head shape - until he was 4 years old.

Yes you are right Kirst, I only got them just over 5 years ago.

Lupin seems to me to be quite small for his age and has a much smaller head than Ducha although his neck is quite chunky..........he is all muscle and definately has a norty gene LOL

How much did Beavis grow in years 2 and 3? Presumably he was neutered around 6 months?

Lupin likes to sleep in the afternoon and is flaked out on the sofa just like yesterday...........peace

Snip snip is on Monday and hopefully he will be fully fine by the time I collect him, Gareth is coming in specially to do it and is on a week off, so wonderfully kind.

Fred and Ginger, ummmmmmmmm no lol. Mind you if there was just Fred and Ginger that would be OK, its my other 3 that I am worried about and one of them hold grudges and the other is sad. I hope it will all sort out quickly.

Yes he is making me laugh and smile and behaving............noooooooooooo LOL

Am about to have dinner and am a tad worried cos he is quiet for more than 5 mins..........sigh

Right , where is he!

Hope he is behaving himself and he is cheering you up.
look after yourself and have a good meal and feel better.

Thanks souflee, will try and find an adult biscuit he fancies, he is eating adult wet food but has no interest in the adult biscuits I have.

Yes Misa and Sasa are worried, Sasa especially cos she refused to come and eat her food and I had to take it too her.

Lupin has met Ducha and Ducha is OK except when Lupin paws at his tail, I think Lupin is used to being in charge of a kitten and knows that Ducha is no Kitten. Ducha slept on the bed with me as usual last night and Lupin was under the bed I think. The door was shut which I am sure Misa and Sasa knew but I need to go slower with them.

Lupin likes lying in the bath LOL and a really big thing he came when he was called..............maybe he saw a packet of food in my hand ,,,,,,,,,no he couldnt see it so came when called  ;D ;D

Lupin is so different from Leonie, who was so much better behaved  :innocent:

I stopped the kitten food at about 6 months and Callie & monty prefer the adult food by far. I think he is big enough for the larger bits and may find the teeny kitten biscuits a bit of a trial. They are a lot dearer too.
He will settle and quieten down I'm sure and then he can meet the others :) They must be finding the newbie smell strange!

Piccies will come I promise but getting use to him and him to me is a bit hard right now, and am worried about Misa and Sasa being shut at the back of the house.

About an hour ago I had to let Lupin roam the front of the house and upstairs, I think his old home had an upstairs but he didnt seem used to stairs............that has changed lol.

It hasnt stopped him howling though! He is as loud or louder than Napoleon

He has slept most of the afternoon which was blissful and he looked so sweet.

I am hoping going up and down stairs will tire him out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#

He hates kitekat and not keen on go cat so have changed him to felix which he gobbles, not sure what biscuits , I want a kitten one.

Need to go upstairs and find out what continuous howling means...............if anything!

Ummmmmmmm birmans are a bit different to other cats in that they make themselves very well heard when they are not happy

Oh that's not just birmans - Mosi's yelling when he wants something could wake the dead.  He'll be confused as he's in a strange place and isn't used to being confined in one room.  Plus he's a kitten (have you ever had one of them, Gill?  :evillaugh:).  Brace yourself!  He sounds adorable and I think he's already got you wrapped around his paw.  The others are right though - don't forget to look after yourself.  Little Lupin will survive without constant attention even if he's not happy about it.

Think I need to move this to the general Cat Chat area LOL

Ummmmmmmm birmans are a bit different to other cats in that they make themselves very well heard when they are not happy, wanting something or are just plain fed up! And for a cat kitten who apparently did not have a birman howl, he definately is not happy about being in the front room and his howling is blood curdling whether I am in there or not, I guess its worse if I am not.

He just hates that closed door and my carpet is in lumps and bumps and right now he is telling me what he wants and lying behind the door.

Didnt get dinner last night cos fell asleep to be woken by the howling LOL

Being he is a kitten he has so much energy and I think this room isnt big enough cos of all the things in it, Leonie was a happy bunny in here and even with the door on the crack she didnt want to go out. He is also ponging out wherever he is cos he is using the tray well. Funny thouigh cos his urine doesnt smaell like a thomas.

He is on window sill now cos have opewned the blinds and he just tried to catch a bird that was flying past in the distance.

He loves to play and think I will get him a cube. although that takes more floor space.

He learns fast which is another birman thing, except his name NOOOOOOOOOO Lupin

He spent last night in the bedroom cos was making too much noise down stairs and that worked well.

I was told he ate kitecat and go cat but doesnt seem to like either and I bought a tin of felix by mistake and he loved that, or wwas it the flavour....tuna and something LOL.

Although small he is very long and is only about 6 inches from the door handle and tries his best to get there. He could be Bertrum thumb cat the way he tries to grab things, thank goodness no thumbs!

Right moving ands retitling this thread LOL

That's about the same age as Callie & Monty. They have 2 sachets of Whiskas each per day plus a dish of Purina1 biscuits and some bits of chicken or fish or whatever we have but they are not particularly big kitties. We split it into 3 meals.
You have to take care of yourself too Gill. You won't do yourself any favours not eating and getting sick sweetie x He will be just fine. Give him a dish of food and nip out while he is eating and prepare yourself something. Leave him in the dark and quiet for a bit as he will need to learn you won't be there 24/7!

If all geordies are like him I hold my head in horror LOL

Maybe geordie birmans are worse than any others.........sigh

I have just spent 90 mins trying to get into the front room cos while I was out doing trays and food on the other side of the door he has done what it took Napoleon a few days to do!

He had scratched the carpet up behind the door and I could not get in, especially with him trying to get out at the same time!

Used the second carrier and he managed to squeeze thro into thew carrier where he has been jailed!

I need to empty the book case I pushed out with a blooming crowbar to get the carpet flat again. I have put hardboard under the door so think he cant do it again but now door is very hard to open. Every cat in the hoiuse knows he is hear cos you can hear him howling from bedroom and kitchen and now I am trapped in here lol.

Before all this I had to drop everything cos he climbed to where my cat things are and was standing among the ornaments..................panic panic.

I need to eat, I havent eaten a meal for a day and a half.

He has just found the end of the tin of Felix and had to stop him sticking his head in!

Ok how much does a 10 1/2 month cat eat? Thats the age Susanne LOL.

I also need to get out cos have closed the doors to study and utility rooms so if he escaped he could go upstairs and cause chaos.........Sasa and Ducha are both in bedroom and Misa is in the kitchen........no in the shed cos I had to go get the crowbar......sigh

Yes he is a character and moving in far to quickly lol................who is gonna be top cat I wonder

I think I need saving!!
