I don't think she'll be on tonight.   She was hoping to stay at the Travelodge for a few hours sleep at the services but it was full so was making the best of it in the car.

On the positive side, the traffic was fairly quiet so if it stays that way and she takes the remaining journey easy she will be home okay.  On the downside she'll now be doing the last part of the journey in the dark.

Am hoping the largest part of the journey will be about done by now (roadworks and the occasional wrong turnings permitting) and they'll be on the final stretch.  Sending more positive journey thoughts, and that Storm will be just the ticket.  ;)

Lol!  We hadn't even met up at that time!  Didn't leave Lymm until just after 12 so it was quite a bit later than we planned.

Needless to say, Gill is not going to be home by 9pm.  I left her trying to get some sleep at the service station before she tackles the rest of the journey back.  With stops it took about 3hrs 30 to get up there and about 4hrs coming back but the stops we had were longer.

I'm sure Gill will take it easy on the way back.  I don't think it worked out as quick as I thought it was going to be but likewise I don't think Gill would have managed the whole journey (there and back) in a day on her own.

As for the rest.....well, that's up to Gill to update :P

Gill, am not sure what time you're setting off tomorrow, but just wanted to say will be thinking of you, and sending lots of "smooth journey" vibes your way.      Don't forget the mobile number for OH just in case you need any guidance.

Liz - brilliant idea about the puppy pads.   :wow:  I'll file that away for when we next cat carry - Paddy used to be accident prone on the shortest of journeys as he hated being in a car.  That would've made things so much simpler.  He was better if he wasn't shut in the cat box, and was sat on someone's knee instead, but it always worried me in case he took off round the car

Rosella - Noni truly was a star on her maiden voyage, bless her.  :Luv:

After all this I hope he is the right cat for you

Just to add that transferring a strange cat from carrier to carrier is not worth the danger they can be in from the car or scary new humans they will be in a strange place with folks they don't know keep , suggestion is vet bed and puppy pads easily pulled out if done carefully in layers

Place cat box on puppy pads makes any messes cleaned up easily from upholstery and keep windows closed cats will if scared get out the smallest gap this includes a sun roof

Now have two carriers in case he gets in a mess.

We brought two carriers to collect Noni Gill in case of mishaps.  OK so only 1.5 hours or so but I hope with all my heart that your young fella is half as good in the car.

OH drove back and I sat in back with her in car.  She cried in carrier pitifully for about 5 mins so I let her out to look out the window for 5 mins which she rather liked then, after eating her chicken picnic supplied by JS, she curled up on my lap and fell asleep for the rest of the trip  :)

I do so hope your young fella imitates Noni rather than Kenny   ;)

Good luck Gill,  take an air freshener for the car ,  JO Ripley was abolsultely fine,  he didnt make a sound and slept for the whole 3 hour journey.  Kenny on the other hand did a wee before we were even on the motorway,  stopped and cleaned that up,  he then did a poo which he then fell over in and I had to stop and clean that and him up ,  he then decided to sing to me the whole rest of the 2.5 hours.

He's doing better than Stevie then , ha came with just his name. Even the vets details I was given were false :(

No false vet details here............sigh.............he hasnt been registered at a vets!!

He would have been by his breeder cos he is jabbed up to date but the owner claims not to have the vaccination card, or any other papers cept the red slip!

If he shouts that wont be as bad as him getting very scared but at least for a couple of hours he can sit with me and hope that will get him sorted for the rest of the journey.

Now have two carriers in case he gets in a mess.

I hope for your sake he's a good traveller too!  ;D  I collected Mosi from Stoke on Trent and it should have been little over an hour in the car but I got stuck in a traffic jam on the motorway and it took about 3 hours.  The little  :censored: made his feelings known all the way.
