Morning Yasmin   :)

Just wanted to say, we'll all be thinking of you throughout the day today, and all of us are wishing you well, hoping things go as smoothly as possible.   Make sure you have your kit packed with all of your useful bits and pieces.

Ross wants to give you a very special big fat stripey snoozle which will last throughout the day, and I'm sending you a jar of hugs - you may have to look closely, but believe me it's with your emergency kit.  It's brimful of hugs - some plumpitty ones, some small ones you can easily have when no-one's looking, some fierce and extra strong ones - all of them just for you.  Doesn't even matter if you can't get the top off - you just select the hug you want in your mind, and it's there.   :Luv:           :cat rub:

And after today, it means it's one session less - one down, and one off your plan.   ;D

Sending you tons of love.

I always wanted curly hair too.  I had it permed when me and ex split up in 1985 (also had my ears pierced; quite the devil I woz  ;) ).  My sister came back from Auzzieland a couple of months later for her 1st visit since emigrating and, as kindly as she could, told me it looked bloody awful  :sigh: so I grew it out as quick as poss.  I bet your curly wig isn't a tight perm though eh Yasmin? and you'll look fab in any hair style  :)

Just popping by to say you'll be in my thoughts as you battle through tomorrow's treatment Yasmin.  Battling this thing is the only way to go

Hey treasure, how are you today?      Ross has had a languid stretch and is waiting to find out whether you need a poke inna eye, or whether you'd rather have a snoozle (which is like a snuzzle, but with more "ooo")?

I think a third's a good idea if they've got them on offer at half price.  (wigs I mean - not snoozles, although Ross doesn't normally charge for snoozles, it has to be said - they're freely given  :Luv:)

Yasmin, don't worry too much about the curlies - Helen's hair initially grew in curly, but it's now back to its former straightness.  It looked lovely both ways.  Mind you - I have very - erm - unruly curly frizzy curls so I am a tad biased......  :-[

Oh Rosella, you may be on to something. He could have his own knives and boards and pans and mine would stay pristine.

Sue_P, I have two the same (I'm considering a third while it's half price online). I chose the style because it is the same colour and cut as my own hair, but a little longer. Tomorrow I'm collecting a different one...similar cut but different colour!

Dawn, it's funny, but when I was in my teens I longed for curly hair...now I love that it's straight. A lot of people are telling me when their hair grew back it was curly, not wavy, not big glamorous rolls, but curly wurly...yikes!

And Thank You to Gill, Sue_P and Sheila for your waves and hellos...it really does help me start the day well :)

Gill, I saw your A-Team wave...thank you. I think I may have to read selective pages on that thread...'tis rather long!

Sue, I have tissues at the ready stationed all over the house and in bags and pockets! I've been warned about taste being effected but hadn't heard of using plastic cutlery...I shall dig out the picnic stuff.

We're dropping the car off for a new exhaust (the garage is close to the hospital) but to avoid rush hour traffic we'll need to leave at 7.45ish..early I know as I don't need to be at the hospital until 9.45. It usually takes us half an hour or 45mins-ish, We'll grab a coffee somewhere. We'll be there all day for this first one.

Bunglycat, my husband (a driving instructor) used to have a student in Swinderby :)

Yasmin, I've heard some people say that using plastic dishes and cutlery can help if your food tastes a bit "odd" after chemo.

Also I remember my friend (the wonderful Helen) found her nose would run at inopportune times whilst she was on chemo - something to do with the loss of those wonderful little hairs inside the nose that form a protective filter and also - as we discovered at that point - from stopping your brains exiting your nostrils!  Maybe worth slipping a little pack of kleenex into handy pockets and bags just in case?

What time will you have to leave home on Thursday?

Sue, thank you. Your hug was well timed...just when I needed it.

And Bunglycat, my husband tells me Lincolnshire is a very large county! We're in Sleaford...a very small town in a very large county.

I have my first chemo session on Thursday so am making sure I have all the little bits and bobs which will make it easier (eye drops, ice cubes, laxatives (yuk), the opposite of laxatives (even yukkier) and vast amounts of patience...it will be an all-dayer. Hey ho...gotta be done!

Gill's right - in a way it has become a diary of our lives and its lovely to have somewhere you can have a laugh with friends, share things that are going wrong or just rabbit (my own personal failing...  ;).  Without the friendship and support I've had there in recent months, I doubt I'd have rallied as quickly from some of life's hard knocks.
