is there any chance she could be much older than you think, Gill, and hyperT?

that would account for rapid breathing and the warm ears

I will be surprised if she has a chip tbh as most people who chip do it at the same time as neuter/spay.

Thanks Carol, but noooooooooooo she is still Pussy at the moment LOL................she just put on a sailor hat.........maybe she is trying to say something

I think she is asleep on the cat tree but if I move, she is down like a flash to go and search for more food lol......thats all I am, a food bringer.

I do hope she has a chip cos that would be great although if they can lose a little cat like that and not have any notices up..........do they deserve her, so worrying.

I'm no kitten expert as you know, but Penny would eat a full sachet and a bowl of dry for breakfast and it was kitten food which is more nutritious than adult or senior.  She would then be ready for another meal at lunchtime and again in the evening (but didn't get as much then).  She had been in rescue for some time so was certainly not starving as your kitty seems to be. Now what did you say her name was?  Puska with a little accent over the s wasn't it?  :naughty:

As regards the breathing I used to think Penny was a fast breather so maybe it is a kitten thing.  When you're used to oldies a kitten is a whole new animal and you have to re-learn.

I know its difficult with your four but she really is your sort of cat isn't she with all that fur and she has certainly made herself at home.  ;)

I hope she turns out to have a chip and can be re-united with her owner.

Gill she may need wormed if you have adult tablets cut one in half and pop down her throat thats what we do with our kittens usually Millibex is our wormer of choice but Pagan had half an adult drontal she is 2 kgs to use as a guideline for both wormers

She is adorable  :Luv:

The only time I've ever heard Mosi hiss was when he first met Jaffa.  Never since.  She is probably just being a bolshy madam and making sure everyone knows she's in charge.

As to how much kittens eat - well, it's a long time since Jaffa was a kitten!  Mosi ate mostly dry when he came to me at 14 weeks so hard to say really.  I fed him 4-5 time a day and let him just eat as much as he wanted with half a pouch of wet at tea time to start with.  Come to think of it, Jaffa had mainly dry when I first got him so it was just as much as he wanted really.

I seriously need to know how much a kitten eats!!

She just went and ate Sasas breakfast and then also had some biscuits ontop of the pouch and a half she had already eaten  :shify:

Soufle if you read this, can you tell me how old the kittens are int the last picture you posted on 12 days of christmas.

The first time Luna met Nova she growled like a big dog lol, but I kept her in the bathroom (even slept in the bathtub with her for two nights  :-[ ) and slowly swapped the bedding around till they were used to each other - now Nova and Luna are best friends though they both have a go at Mia sometimes  :(

I had forgotten that Sue  :innocent:

Have posted her found on Purrs but Cat chat will not allow me to post again..............help please someone.

Gotta eat something and then start posting her found on other sites.

She is flaked out on the cat tree now, so should be able to get out LOL

She seems to breath very fast compared to my other cats.....should I be worried?

Thanks for looking Edd

just love her, especially that wonderful tail

her eating loads and reaction to the other cats may stem from a period outside when she was competing for food - hopefully she will be less anxious as time goes by ;)

Gill, d'you recall Rosella saying how much Groucho ate when he first arrived?  He was hungry too, bless him.  I remember how Rosella got worried once he started to eat "normally" as she thought he was going off his food.   :evillaugh:

She really is beautiful. And yes, there is a Noni-esque look to her. ;)

I see why it's not ideal to keep her though, Gill. With all the health issues you've got with yours at the moment and the precarious group dynamic it's difficult. (Shame though. ;)) Sending you a big hug.

Gill - she is just  :Luv2: :Luv2: and seems to making herself truly at home. So you discovered she was a girl ;D

Kittens from memory eat at least 4 meals a day - stress and lack of food previously can increase the levels initially.

Had a trawl of lost and found registers for you last night - could not see anything.

Good luck today.

Blimey - she looks well and truly at home Gill - got her paws firmly under your cat tree!   Er, yes - I seem to recall kittens can fair pack the food away.  Handy when you have four other, more discerning palates to cater for......

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh is it morning!

How much does a kitten normally eat?

She has just demolished a pouch and a half!

Gave her two half pouches and left the rest of pouch on top of something but she blooming climbed up and got it, knowcked it on the floor and started trying to get into it and eat.

She has jiust used the litter tray and wants to leave the room and go exploring.

Late last night Franta came down cos he wanted cuddles and for me to go to bed and she was seriously upset, Franta didnt seem to notice the racket she was making or even see her and she carried on moaning long after he had left and didnt forgive me until she got some more food................sigh

Mine are upset cos the door is closed but Pussy is upset cos of the other cats.

I am stuck until the couriers come and the the bloomin school is open again..................why dont they just give up!

Having a problem keeping her in the room while I am getting out and she is climbing all over the place. I agree seems to be a Maine Coon cross.

Has found thed cat tree  ;D

She hasnt cried at all when I have left her, the first time was in utility room and new she couldnt get out but couldnt find her, stood up to find her watching me from top of fridge freezer LOL.

Moved her to front room where she has a tray and food and drink and she is just snoozing in different places. I have left her alone a number of times but not a peep.........................no she will not be coming to bed cos have all the other cats up there.

I think she is now lovely and warm and relaxed after using her Pussy power to gain entry but probaly also tired from her ordeal and the cold.

I will leave some light on for her tonight and hope she will be Ok.

My real worry is about the other cats cos they usually pop in and out of the front room when they want and the birmans like to come and cuddle and Misa just likes to check I am still here.

I need to wait in tomorrow cos have a parcel maybe two coming by courier, one is very expensive and need to get it in my sticky hands.

I will make some posters tomorrow and stick them on the lamposts that are within sight but really want to get her scanned for a chip but that may have to wait till bloomin wed.

Oh bless her little heart .... she will kneading and snuggling because she is cold / frightened and now happy and content.  If I was you I would put one of your jumpers or an old towel in a box and shut her in the lounge with her litter tray and a bit of food and water (unless of course you want to take her to bed with you  ;))

She will probable cry when you leave her alone but as long as she has a nest to hide in she will be OK.

She's a lucky girl to have found you  :Luv2: :Luv2:

Oh Gill, what a dilemma.  I have nothing useful to add but I agree with Edd, she looks very Maine Coone to me, not that I'm an expert on breeds, my only experience is with moggies.

Poor thing having ice blocks in her tail - that doesn't happen even this weather unless she has been very wet - is it snowing where you are?  She's certainly a stunner and sounds like a real cuddlebum.  Why does nobody dump a cat on my doorstep?

Bless you Gill, this little one is lucky to have found you.  Maybe she is kneading and sucking because you are a warm body and she's been so cold? Tiny kittens cuddle up to mum for comfort and safety, I presume that instinct doesn't dissipate overnight. Or maybe she realises she has found a softie and is trying to get her paws under the table: you probably smell of contented cat pheromones! :Luv2:
