I know some of you will be thrilled to see this update on Chico new name Scamp.

Hi there Teresa,

I thought it was about time to give you an update on dear little Chico as it's two weeks today since he came home to us.

First thing, and I hope you don't mind, Chico is now his middle name as he's now become Scamp due to his relentless scampering! He's quickly figured out that no room is out of bounds to him and boy does he scamper round the place! He still looks like a little Chico of course :)

He and Scruff are getting along well as one of the images attached will show. There's been a couple of affectionate licks between the two and they get closer and closer each day :)

He really is turning into such a wonderful and affectionate little boy. Thanks to your's and your husband's love I think that thankfully his rough start to life has had no lasting effects. He's currently curled up on my lap and I'm precariously balancing the laptop on the arm of the sofa lol.

Attached are a couple of pics of him and one with Scruff and he asleep on our bed.

I hope that both of you are doing well. I became rather concerned for you when I heard about this volcanic cloud floating over the UK as I can't imagine it will be good for lungs. How are Pepsi and her babies doing?

Also please let me know if you get round to doing any fundraising activities this year as I am more than happy to donate some 'cat lovers' t-shirts for a raffle/tombola etc. I've still not had any luck with that wrapping paper though sorry!

The very best regards to you and all of the Paws Inn residents :)

Sarah, Steff, Scruff and Scamp Chico

Momo is much better now, the end of his nose is back to being pink today rather than white and he is eating well and purring :)

Both he and Cassidy send you some big headbutts and kitty kisses.

I'm glad to hear that Pepsi's kittens are doing well.  It's saddening though that the adults are being overlooked when I know you work so hard and they are always lovely cats at Paws Inn.

Poor Momo, hoping he is soon back to his normal happy self at least he has comedian Cassidy to comfort him with his " Mowww Mowww" hes still the only cat I have known do that.
Please keep me up to date with progress and give both a  from me.

Didnt manage to get pictures of inmates at weekend but all are doing well, Pepsis kittens were 2 weeks yesterday and are thriving, got so many beautiful friendly adults here and not one bit of interest yet I am up and down like a yoyo answering phone to people wanting tiny kittens so unfair.

Hope you had a good holiday and that Momo and Cassidy are well, time we had some pics of that very handsome duo

Hi T, sorry I've not replied earlier, we've had problems with Momo being ill since he got back from the cattery after the holiday last week :(  He's been coughing/gagging and is withdrawn.  We thought it might have been a stuck furball (he brought a couple of huge ones up yesterday), but he didn't improve and started to sound wheezy so we took him to the vet's. The poor boy can't purr without gagging :(  The vet has given him antibiotic and anti-inflammatory injections and he's perked up a ;ittle bit since then, but he left us a "surprise" on our bed which we though was another furball and turned out to be full of cat hair but from the other end.  He's forgiven though as he isn't well and he'd been running up and downstairs and going in his tray several times first since he had the injections (his tummy seems fine now).  If there isn't a vast improvement by Thursday, the vet wants us to call him and try something else.  He said it was an infection or virus (not something we thought would happen to a fully vaccinated cat) and that we had to phone the cattery to let them know, as that's where he would have picked it up.  I asked about other extra vaccinations in future, but the vet said   they don't really work that well for other things than the major stuff.  Cassidy is currently his usual self, tough as old boots and being a comedian.  The vet said to keep a close eye on him in case he picks it up too, but we know what we're looking for now!  Momo had a good going over with the Furminator tonight, we'd not groomed him since he came out of the cattery to avoid distress with him being ill, but the vet said it was OK and in fact probably a good idea.

I'll get some pictures sorted out when Momo is a bit better and more like his usual affectionate self!

Big hugs,

The middle one in the bottom pic looks very fluffy - is (s)he going to be semi long-haired or am I looking at more than one kitten there?

Still not been to spec savers  I do see what you mean though Carol, kittens are usually about 3 weeks old when it becomes apparent that they will be fluffy or at least thats always been the case with the moggies here.

Kittens were a week old yesterday and all 5 decided to open their eyes a couple of days early, I love it when they first decide to glimpse at the world, Pepsi mum is such a good mother and so very proud of them. Took a few pics and you can just pic out little faces amongst the sea of black now, they get more beautiful each day. No pics of mum today she decided she wanted to stretch her legs and have a little wander.

No worries Teresa. Whatever is best for Pepsi is what should happen and if travelling isn't her thing then moving to South Wales probably isn't best for her. I hope when she is ready she finds a loving cosy forever home, where she can be treated like a princess. I'm glad she has such a loving guardian as you to watch over her until that time comes.

Skully   much as Pepsi will need a good home in a couple of months, she did not travel well on the journey here,so we will be looking for somewhere more local. I note you are South Wales, I know Gill said she once volunteered at a rescue in that area and from what she described things were desperate, so maybe she can point you in right direction.

Regards rehoming out of area, I have no problem with it providing the cat/kitten can cope with the journey, thinking about it ex Paws Inn cats are now in Thailand, Canada,Florida, France and one or two other places, all were rehomed in the knowledge that they would eventually travel.
A little story just sprung to mind, the lady who adopted Minimopsicals brother and sister went on holiday to France (Ardeche) and was delighted the English run accomodation had 2 resident cats, she got talking to the cats humans and told them about her cats and can you imagine the shock when both parties realised they had got their kitties from same place  Paws Inn, holidays over that lady was banging on my door to tell me all about my French cats, but of course I already knew because my cats had sent me an email when they first moved to France telling me they were disgusted that none of the cats spoke their language and it was awful hot to be wearing fur coats
