Is it six weeks or even close!

He will improve in time and suspect that he will have lost sight and thats why the BP meds must continue for the rest of his life or he will lose tha sight in both eyes.

He is a lovely old chap and long may he continue to love his life

 :evillaugh:

It's the same here Gillian - I know it needs to be done, but just the thought is deterring me from action just now.  The thought of all the aches and pains that follow a spell with the paintbrush and stepladders.

Very glad to hear Winston is on the mend, although a shame if he has lost some of the sight in that eye, bless his heart.   I hope you get your wish, and can sit outside enjoying a warm and peaceful weekend.   :)

Winston is also doing ok and his eye looks almost normal now , even though I think he has lost a little sight in it .
He is still limping though , his leg is taking a long while to get better .
They have all been outside though , until  i had to get the grass cut !
Still , I am hoping we can all have a rest  and sit in the sun this weekend .
I have painted a few panels of my fencing , but the rest can wait now a few days as there are far too many to do in a few days !  Last time I tried to do a lot , I had pains in my shoulders and arms for weeks .
I am also thinking of decorating the living room , not got any further than thinking though at this stage .
Why is there always so much to do ??

Winston is doing ok , eye is slightly better , but you can still see its a different colour and I am sure he has lost some sight in it .
Still limping too , but that could be another few weeks .
On the other hand , he is eating well, going and sitting on the doorstep and occasionally trying it on with Pandora  who doesn't mind at all as she loves him :Luv2:
He hates these tablets though and they are the tiniest things , being one eighth of a tablet , yet he just eats is fortekur out of my hand .

Winston had his check up last night , has to stay on the BP tablets for 4 weeks , then another check up . His eye seems a bit better, still limping though , but ok in himself.

Also had to take Fifi with me as I noticed she has a bad eye too , she has a ulcer started ! Got some drops for her as well , I need luck to do it as she is a cantankerous old lady !  It will be done though  :sneaky:.

Another vet bill not far off £100 as had to get Winston's Fortekur as well !

Hi, a bit better thanks Sheila.
His eye is looking a lot better , he is back at the vets tomorrow evening to get checked out. He is still limping though , but the vet said that could take 6 weeks or more to get better if it does as he has arthritis too.
H has his metacam at lunchtime , his blood pressure tablet tea time and heart tablet bedtime .
He is such a good boy .

Poor Winston.  :-:  What a lot for him to cope with.  It sounds like he's getting excellent attention from his very own personal Nursing Attendant, and for things to continue the same for him is exactly what he needs right now.

Ahhhh yes thats right its part of a tab cos Kocka had detaching retinas and couldnt be pilled but I could crush this part of a tab and she ate off my finger mixed in her AD diet.

Its so sad when this happens but she got around even when her retinas flapped and made her blind.

Thanks Gill.
He has already had a tablet today , well , he has to have an eighth of  a tablet a day !
Had his meals took upstairs and loads of kisses and cuddles. Luckily I have had him 11 years and in the same house , so he should be ok finding his way round .
I can't believe all this for him , first the leg now his eye . He is so good at the vets as well .

Not been back long.
Winston has had a bleed behind his eye . He has checked his blood pressure and its a bit high so he is on tablets and got to go back next Monday.
Says he has probable lost most of the sight in the eye and we need to try and stop the other one going the same way . He has heart problem and that may have caused it .
Not been banged or anything .
I am gutted for my poor boy  :'(

Gill, try not to pre-empt matters.  Not much longer now, and you can let the vet check it out.  Sometimes a blood vessel bursts without it being serious, so don't panic.

Think he is becoming accident prone !
His eye looked sore last night , not sure why , so popped some fucithelmic  (sp) cream in .
This morning it looks awful ! The pale orange part of his eye has gone really dark orange , so booked in for 6.30pm this evening .
No idea how this has happened either !

Winston has hurt his Achilles heel !
He is slightly better and was sat in the window sill this morning and is getting about a bit better.
The vet says its could be 4-6 weeks before its better , but I can see an improvement a little already .
He is fine in himself, eating, drinking and wanting to go in the garden.
Still on Metacam and will be for a while .
thanks for all the help and advice .
Mr Owen says he is doing ok for a cat his age , he is 15 next Month .

Thanks, going to be worried sick now till I know what's going on with him.
He does have one small lump not fixed above his front leg which he has a touch of arthritis in.
I am having his tummy scanned too , his sides stick out a bit and I ask him if he is just fat ( he weighs almost 6kg ) said probably , but may also be fluid there as he has a heart murmur !
No wonder my hair is nearly all grey now !

Rang back to try and get in tomorrow ,but said he is choo lock full and he is on his own at present , its a really busy practise too.
I have no idea why he doesn't think it's a fracture , maybe because of where it is ?
I think he thinks it may be a clot , but if so surely he would have had him in tomorrow ?

I can get there ok Sheila , I drive , it's about 14 miles each way , been and got some petrol again as I will have to leave him and come home Wednesday and then go back to pick him up again.

That sounds really daft as a circulation problem would not show on an xray!

In fact unless there was some kind of clot dont think a circulation problem would show on any type of scan.

Why does your vet not think its a fracture and why delay until Wed?

Is he putting any weight on that foot?

If not I still think he needs an xray.
