you're right Lilly!! At this rate Nuggie will never be able to show himself in Cats Mouths again...... Literally exposed!!

this is also the person who took the hamster to the vet with a "tumour" only to be told it was a testicle and that the visit was free based on entertainment factor

no wonder the cats don't trust me near their nether regions

Oh I'm so glad the removed photo was explained Tiggy and I can see by the latest photo that Riley is clearly proud of his falsies

Although as i am on my phone and the photos were coming up on screens I did take a sharp intake of breath as the photo above it was revealed

but was most relieved

Lilly...I think is safe to say everything's normal in that area

and hopefully once this dominant cat gives up there'll be no more spraying! x

Unfortunately...

I am now feeling slightly degraded by the fact that i am trying to picture in my head Nuggies Nads (the fur hides any impressive falsies he may have aquired) and I wont be able to stop myself inspecting Peanuts Nuts (or lack off)

I have trawled the net and it seems that the total removal of the sac is an outdated method of neutering. The current method is as Tiggy's mum described below - small incision, removal of contents and either the tying off of the cords or stitching, then said contents are cut free. So, it looks like Ted will not be undergoing any further interference with his bits!

I don't dare! I like my blood travelling thru my veins as opposed to down my arms/legs! I know I sound like a dimwit, I just don't understand why my old cats didn't have their cojones after neutering but now the cats do. My sister's boy Aslan has no cojones either

The reason I'm confused, is that when we had boy cats at home, when I was a kid, they had no bits at all left over, even deflated ones. The first male cat I had myself in England was 13 (10 years ago) and he had no bits at all. When I rescued D'arcy he was 2 and had his bits but was neutered. Has the surgery changed? Ted has been neutered too, but still has his bits.

Totally confused here and thought that neutering was not tying anything but what ever is done it stops the male hormones after a short while.

Nothing will stop spraying and fighting unless the target is sorted.

Cats still mark their territorry, male and female.

If there is another cat in the area that Ted does not like, could be because the other cat isnt neutered or likes to fight.

My understanding of castration/neutering (although I could be totally wrong!) is that they make an incision into the outer sack and then remove the 'innards' hence the slighty deflated look

I've not heard of tubes being tied in an animal, I thought that was what a vasectomy was in a human man

As some of you know Mr Ted is a demon piddler and a fighter. He is neutered (since 9 months old) but I'm wondering if I should take him to be castrated. He comes in with cuts and abcesses on a regular basis from his altercations with fat tabby from up the street (ftfus) and over the past 6 or 7 months (since Cooper went missing) Ted is marking a lot - my bedding mainly and one of the sofas downstairs. Would the castration potentially reduce his fighting and calm his need to mark? Obviously I wouldn't put him through the op on a whim, but I wonder if the reduction in hormones would result in a happier Ted. We've been down the feliway, zylkene, kalm-aid routes to no avail.
All thoughts welcome - and I am thinking of Ted first, piddling second and ftfus third.
