Cora's latest blood tests are back - not looking good

Helen, I've sent you a messsage re the Hepatosyl, the vet said it's Ok to give her.

I'm totally confused by Cora.  15 months ago, she was given only days to live, her ALT was off the scale according to the vet I had at the time.
I know it depends on what type of machine they use, but even so, it must have been high.
I gather the normal figure is in the region of 300-ish.
Before Xmas, ALT was over 600, and went down a bit, and she was really badly jaundiced and not eating then.  Now the jaundice is going, but her ALT was 1,300-odd when the last tests came back.
I'm wondering if this is what happens when she goes off her food, then starts eating again a couple of days later - does it drop back on it's own for some reason?

I'm going to make you all laugh now - we are having lots of loves and plays, and she has always slept with me, and loves to have her tummy tickled.  I woke up in the middle of last night, and found myself tickling her tummy in my sleep!  She was on her back enjoying it!

SO enjoy her, spoil her a little, while she is your gorgeous Cora and her usual self 
and although it may well be the inevitable decision you make, she'll let you know when should be - and it may not be as soon as you think xx

If Cora is running about as normal and not in any pain, I would keep going as you are - agree with Gill and Carol that you will know when shes not happy any more, but hopefully thats a long way off

The vet said the same to me, and she has difficult and sick cats of her own.
At least I'm getting her meds into her at the moment, thanks to pill pockets and chiken skin.
The odd thing is, I'm sure she's gained weight, she feels less bony down her spine than she did.

Then don't.  The time for heroic intervention may be over but so long as she is enjoying her life then let her live it.    You will know when she has had enough and do the right thing for her.  I hope that time is a long way off yet.

The results of Cora's bloods are back, and it really isn't looking good.
Her ALT (liver) levels are double what they were 3 weeks ago, and her thyroid levels are up despite the
Felimazole.  The specialist has said take her off the felimazole, as it is irritating her liver, and we are treating her heart
instead.
They've said I may not have her for much longer, which I've known for a while anyway, but I still can't reconcile it with how
lively and chatty she is, and how well she looks.
I can't bring myself to end it when she is running about and enjoying herself, and she doesn't seem to be in pain, but am I doing the right thing
in giving her all these tablets which are keeping her going?
At the end of the day, all I'm doing is postponing the inevitable.
I wasn't expecting a cure (although I've prayed for one), but I had hoped she would stabilise.
