Not really ours only took 7 months to retrap after the great escape but Rio is still elsuive afet 14 months and yes we do take a break and then put nice smelly food in agfain and have found this worked for us

Keep the faith and I'm sure she will be home soon and need to come and stay with us for a while!  She will then appreciate all your home comforts after the Clan have explained things to her!

Hi Liz! Still no luck. I haven't caught anything (except a rabbit) for the past 9 nights so was planning to give trapping a break for 2 or 3 nights then start again. The 'gang' aren't likely to be frightened off to another part of the forest are they?

I am home this week working from home so if you want a hand give us a shout as we have another trap currently not in use as Rio is sitiing on them again - just have Sweetie at the vet so will be around

Good luck - once they have a food source it does make it easier and we caught our last one after nearly 7 months excluding Rio so keep the faith

We're not able to trap as often now as my OH is back onshore and so has got the car everyday and is away several weekends (with car) but I'm out as often as I can searching for the llittle (well big) fluffball. We've had another 2 sightings in the forest still so sounds like she's still there which is brilliant, just a case now of waiting until she goes into the trap.

Michelle, the trap was lablled while Lottie was using it but she has had to go back down the road but we are trying Plan B if I can sort someone out to check the trap it will be back, she is still around but like my own ladies when we had to trap them they will do it in their own good time not when we thinks its time.

Our offer still stands when Madam Tigger comes back, and Lottie now has her own feral colony plus the pedigrees to!

How about putting a note on the trap explaining what you are doing and asking anyone that sees a cat matching her description to ring you ?

Lottie has the trap for as long as she needs and we are thinking of ways to help - we may set the trap at the weekends but work through the wek and its a hell of a trip through Aberdeen to do this for us.

All is not lost though Lottie is off to KFC for chicken for the trap - this is a fail safe method and she still has 2 whole nights to go so keeping all paws and fingers crossed here at the Clan Cats HQ.

We have also offered when madam turns up to do her 12 weeks isolation here so Lottie doesn't need to panic on that front.

Even a persian cross bengal will be nicer than some of my own mob! :innocent:

A good thing to do is to make a poster to leave with the trap explaining why its there, whats happening to the cats and a contact number for any concerned people to call.

I believe Lottie had done this and continues to. So frustrating.

Come on  Tigger. Home! Now!!

We had someone phone call from someone saying they had let her out of the trap because it was cruel for her to be trapped

How frustrating.  >:(  As Milly's Mum says though, at least you know Tigger's OK, so that is some comfort.

That must be so sickening for your Lottie.

Often an old lady who feeds feral cats will set them free thinking they will be pts, always good to befriend the locals!

The good thing from this is that you know shes ok and still in the area!
Isnt there anyone who could continue the trapping for you while your away? Its a long time to leave it.  :(

We had someone phone call from someone saying they had let her out of the trap because it was cruel for her to be trapped and then had a huge go at me that she had bitten and scratched him (Tigger hates strangers and happily attacks anyone who makes her feel threatened). I went straight down to the forest but got no response when I was calling her so I reset the trap and unfortunately she hasn't gone back into it since. We've caught a few more ferals since then but for the past few days the trap has been completely empty and nothing has gone in at all. Have got tonight and tomorrow night left to trap her and then that's it until June  :'( :'(

Might try kippers tonight and see if that will encourage her as I don't think you can get any more strong smelling than kippers. Unfortunately all of Tigger's favourite foods don't smell  much :(

Bless her heart she's going to be so scruffy by now (but on the positive side she'll have a lovely shaved spotty coat for summer lol.)  Hopefully she's not going to have picked up too many bad habits from the ferals and fingers crossed she'll remember how to use a litter tray!

The good thing is that something is going in and the training session has proved that!

At least there are cats there and this might be the ones she has been seen with so you may meet half the colony before her ladyship pops in the trap! :-[

You may need all those sardines yet!!!!!

Lottie the loan of a trap is still here perhaps setting a trap in the location may help as we found when looking for our own mob after the great escape we had more luck with the traps than looking as they tend to revert to night time and unless they want to be seen they won't no matter how domesticated - I had to trap Puma and I hand reared him from 10 days old and he thinks I am his mother couldn't get near him and he was in a trap after 18 days.

Remember she is scared and possibly in a strange place and a nice covered trap with smelly food never fails so please pm me.

Hope it iis her they do loose weight even in a short time well our exception to that was Miss gracie who discopvered where w had a feeding station and eventually went in a trap on day 30 ans was the same weight as when she left!

We have had one possible sighting in a forest nearby. A guy phoned at 9am on Tuesday morning to say he'd seen a cat in a thick bit of the forest very early that morning but he couldn't see clearly whether it was black and white or not and he said it looked like a very small cat when Tigger is quite a big girl so we are not sure if it is her or not but fingers crossed it is. We had a long long walk around the forest on Tuesday and yesterday and we haven't seen/heard anything yet but fingers crossed we'll find her and she'll be back home where she belongs soon.
