So sorry to see this Sharon. I know how hard you pulled out the stops for him as I followed his story.

A simple but sincere thank you from me for caring for him in his hours of need.  :(

Oh Sharon,

I'm so sorry to read this heartbreaking news about dear, courageous, cheese-loving, little Sydney, who touched all our hearts with his sweetness.  I know it was inevitable but somehow we all hoped against hope that he would have longer.....

I'm also very sad for Karen who knew that she would have to face this sadness within a short time but still opened her heart to this brave little love.

R.I.P. Sydney....we all loved you and now you are running free sweetheart. No more pain.....just everlasting peace and love.

Thinking of you and Karen, Sharon.

Lots of love

So sorry to hear Sydney has passed over to the Bridge, Karen gave him love and dignity and he was in a place where he was wanted not just another stray with no final resting place.

He is now free and I'm sure that be it a short time he has left memories and pawprints in your hearts forever.

Loved and wanted the best way for them to pass.

Thanks everyone for your messages. Rescue is sometimes hard as we all know, but some times a cat comes along that pulls at heart strings! Syndey was one.  RIP Sydney, who by the way continued to purr and headbutt anyone who was within distance.

:( Oh how sad ... I have followed Sydney's story from the beginning and have been saying a little prayer for him each night.

For those of you that don't know his story here's the link from CC http://www.catchat.org/discus/messages/17/54994.html?1163678404

Special big hugs to Sharon and his foster carers who were able to provide him with endless love and cuddles while he was with them.   :care:

RIP Sydney You special cheese loving furbabe.  Play hard at the bridge little one, no more pain just lots of new friends and all the cheese you can eat.

I am so very sorry to hear this, but he was one of the lucky ones who got such a wonderful person and home to spend his last days in, his tale could have been so much worse. RIP little one.

I do hope that people learn from this, it will make things that bit easier then.

Sorry to hear about Sydney. I'm glad he was at home with his new family rather than in a vets surgery or outside in the cold :'(

I am so sorry, but at the same time he did get all the love and devotion for his last few weeks everything he deserved and needed. His fosterers deserve a medal and my heart goes out to them.  RIP Sydney.

I am so sorry, I am afraid I do not know Sidneys story but at least it seems he found love and comfort to-wards the end of his life and for that you should be proud.

Sydney, a fighter to the end!
« Reply #1 on: November 23, 2006, 15:17:59 PM »
Any of you who have been keeping up with my determined efforts to give Sydney a home for his last few months of his life, will i know doubt be saddened by the following.

Just to let you know that Sidney died today at 2.30pm. We were both with him when he went and the vet was coming out but he died before the vet could come, so in a way it was better for him to go naturally rather than have to be put to sleep. We are very sad.
My husband has taken him to the vet to make absolutely sure as it would be awful if he was in a coma and we didn't realise, silly really, but I would like to hear the vet confirm he has died.
We did our best but in the end there was nothing anyone could do, we just tried to make him more comfortable, and our lives are richer for having known our dear Sidney.

I went to see Sydney a few weeks ago and though weak and frail certaintly seemed to be enjoying life with comforts.  It makes me so sad that we were not able to give him any more time. But I know we tried our best and Karen was a angel!

However, Sydney and his story should not be forgotten, dont forget those strays out there, dont assume they are someones elses problem and pick up the phone and let someone know.

A few tears while writing this email, I didnt know Sydney that well, but what i do know was that he was a fighter to the end.

Sharon
