I didn't get there in the end, I didn't want to risk it with the trains and the probable bad weather, they are delayed at the best of times and even if it was on time I wouldn't have got home until 10.30 so deceide against it. I have promised myself I will be more organised next year and get my rail tickets booked early so they are cheaper and maybe stay overnight so it's not such a long day. Sounds like a good time was had by all and congrats on the pen Witty it looks fab  ;D

At least I have more pennies for the auction now since I didn't spend them on Saturday

Was great meeting you all yesterday!

I didn't post last night as I was absolutely exhausted - had been up since 3 am and the drives there and back were pretty horrible. Had dense fog in the morning on the A14 and absolutely torrential rain on both the M6 and A14 on the way home.

Stopped at Boxworth on the way home - the manageress from the McDonalds remembered me and wanted to know if I wanted the chicken plain or in a burger as she knows the chicken is for Madam. Bless her, that was so sweet of her.

Pearl came second in her class for the fourth Supreme running. This time I genuinely didn't agree with the judge's decision (and the winner really shouldn't have been in that class anyway, but hey ho) but you win some and you lose some. Will be back for another tilt next year - the overall winner had never won a class at the Supreme in eleven previous attempts...

Consolation came in winning the decorated pen competition!  :naughty:

ok, I went.  But I didn't get on here to see that you were meeting in Wetherspoons and tbh I couldn't have walked that far from the main hall as by 1pm I was knackered, weighed down with bags and limping   Gutted to have missed Pearl and Witty but I didnt' realise they were there this year as I didnt' recall her mentioning it on here.  I spent less time wandering around looking at the cats this time and took it all fairly easy.  Consequently, I enjoyed myself more than expected as I had lower expectations.  It's not the same without my friend as, although she doesnt' have cats, we have a great time looking at the cats, looking them up in the catalogue, predicting what sort of cat will win, having a giggle at some of the cats etc.  Plus I have someone to carry my shopping!

Sandphlangham - were you at the Somali talk?  I think I saw you there.  Got a feeling I saw wibblechick too at some point.  I did look out for Purrs badges but didnt' see anyone wearing one  ;D

I bought loads of stuff - mainly food.  48 cans almo nature, 16 cartons bozita, some schessir food, some Orijen dry plus a few toys.  Mosi had the time of his life last night when I got home with one of the toys - a feather and some scrunched paper on the end of a stick.  I also managed to get Mosi a new cat cube to replace his totally wrecked one.  I've been meaning to get one from Purrs for ages but have problems with post, esp when it wont' go through letterbox, so took the opportunity to get one when I saw them.  Jaffa got a new catnip toy and was totally nipped out last night!  And as for all the bags.....  ;D

I had a really good chat with a Somali breeder I know (bred Mosi's mum and I found Mosi through her) and watched some of the Somali judging.  The breeder has kittens at the moment..........   ;D   (Dont' worry Jaffa, meowmy wouldn't bring another kitten home!).  All in all I had a good day although it would have been nice to meet Purrs peeps (but I would have refused outright to be in any photos!!)

Great pictures and would love to see some more of the cage  ;D

Am sure Witty will post some better ones tomorrow Gill but she will not have been home long now and will be shattered after a long day.  Her pics will of course be worth the wait though.  The pen potting shed was really fabulous down to the last little detail and the apples smelt just wonderful  :drool;

Aren't we an abstemious lot ?  All tea and cola!

We bumped into my best mate from school later on in the afternoon and had a second Wetherspoons' visit WC and this time I tasty a drop of the amber nectar  ;)

I've just googled and I think I did see Pearl  :Luv2:  but not Witty sadly I need to get my act together for next time as it was a last minute decision really.
Thanks, the car is under warranty so that shouldn't be a problem but it was scary  :scared:

Well didn't get to meet anyone unfortunately  :(  we didn't get there until about 1.45 because before we left hubby went to start the car and it set on fire    (it's only 18 mths old) he's a mechanic thankfully so knew what to do he disconnected battery and we waited for it to stop smoking and we ended up going in his van  but I was still worried leaving it so my dad nipped to check it was ok - which it was but have get towed into garage now  :shify:   Anyway enjoyed the day, we looked around for Purrs peeps but never saw anyone anlooked round the show a milliion times but didn't see Witty sadly.  I loved the cat pens (I've been thinking of getting one for a while now) really disappointed didn't see anybody but hopefully next time will get to meet everyone.

I am gutted Ann and I will be so angry if they have got it wrong  :shify:

But looks like I would leave just before it arrived here but I would drive into the worst of it and then be in it all the way there and back.

The trains are such a pain too arent they, and hope you make it

That's such a shame Gill you were really looking forward to it too  :censored: weather. Actually I haven't made a final decision myself yet, I'm going to see what the weather is like in the morning as if it's bad the trains will be affected. The journey back from Birmingham is always a pain at the best of times as the trains are rubbish. I had to go there for work on Thursday and the 4pm train I was booked on kept getting delayed so a few of us went for the 4.30 instead, I thought although it was due in later at least I would be on the train and on my way. Anyway when I moved to the other platform it said the 4pm was running 24 minutes late but we got into Newcastle at 8.15 and when I looked at the board the 4pm from Birmingham which should have got to Newcastle at 7.38 was "expected" at 8.28 so 50 minutes late  Funnily enough you can get down there in 3 hours but just try getting back

Afraid due to the weather forecast I have just seen the Supreme is now off for me.......it looks like its going to be very bad here and for whole journey there and back and dont think its worth the risk.

Was out on M4 today with not much wind I thought but in the open areas was being blown all over the place.

I am really disappointed and was looking forward to meeting you all.

I hope you have a good time.

Drive very carefully

Unfortunately the money I was waiting on won't be coming through til next week, and as I only have £15 to my name until then, I won't be able to make it  :(

Did someone mention a Bracknell show next weekend? Thats a bit closer and I've been assured I'll have my money by then so it might be another opportunity to meet up with people!

Last year was my first Cat Show and I am no apologist for Cat Shows but the pens are really quite large and, whilst there were undoubtedly a few unhappy looking cats  :( , the vast majority seemed to be perfectly at ease or asleep.  If they all enjoyed it as much as Witty's Pearl (incredibly friendly and totally at ease) it would be perfect of course.  I am mainly going to meet up with everyone though although it wouldn't be right not to take a peek at the puds esp the NFCs  :blow kiss:

Hope to see you there Janey.

thanks for the info, hopefully will you see you there  ;D

Due to the weather forecast tomorrow my plans are on complete hold now until tomorrow morning.

I was worried about Franta which was my one big stopper but the weather is forecast to be so bad in S and SW and we are waterlogged completely as are the edges of A48 and M4.. then of couse there is the Bridge crossing with a sideways wind.....I dont know how strong it has to be before they close the bridges!

One day in the bloomin year and the weather is threatening to ruin it.  :(

I must confess the actual cat show part I did not enjoy last time I went, didn't like to see them all in the cages, and some of them looked very unhappy  :(, but that's just my opinion  - but it would have been nice to meet up with everyone and buy some goodies.

Yep, I have to say that's my worry too and why I've never been before but if it bothers me we'll go round the shop part and not go again.

Hope things go well with the new kitty xx

Is there going to be a Purrs meeting spot?  I still don't know whether I'm going as I have a twinge in my back this morning and felt really ill last night (cough is getting worse not better).  It's really the last thing I feel like doing, esp with my sore feet and the floors being so hard there, but it's the cat show and I think I will regret it if I dont go.  If I do, I will be croaking and hobbling around the place!  I'll be easy to spot as I'll be the one coughing away!
