the first two are lucifer doing his best to destroy my living room and the last.. well, after me going on and on to my friend about what a little angel lucifer is in the car we arrived home to find hed knocked over a large ceramic plantpot with young bamboo in,

ive been growing it for 2 years! luckily lucifer not hurt or owt but blimey had he made a mess! so i took a pic (half way through cleaning tho)

o and thats when i discovered that my hoovers broken

erm well lucifer has lived up to his name tonight!
i had a friend over (~with the excuse of catching up but blatently to show off my boy! didnt want to until i was sure he was staying, well pictures to everyone but no introductions)
so hes spent 3 hours stalking her and attacking her and pouncing on her

he never has his claws out though, it just takes some getting used to! luckily shes catmad too and thought it was as funny as i did. were probably getting him into bad habits though, even just allowing it, let alone playing along and encouraging it! o well, i'll just have to stop inviting non-cat people into my home

terrible shame that

he seems attached to me, might just be a cunning rouse to get showered with toys and treats though -(if it is, its worked!!

yes, the lady cats have a harder time of it and a more worrying op, im just a worrier! ill probably camp out in the vets for the day if i ever take a lady in for a spay!!

i think im forgiven now, i think he was more put out by the pre-op starving than the actual op! for his first 3-4 days with me he pretty much inhaled food, then he slowed down (like he realised he didnt need to store it up, hed always be fed?) then after the pre-op starving he started inhaling it again but now hes calmed down again, and hes been on my lap or next to me all day, completely flat out and letting me rub his belly ( which is so rubbable!)

When mine got their bits done they were not even the slightest bit bothered LOL ..I worried all day and when they got back they just messed about and then slept woke up in the morning and like nothing ever happened ...

I personally worry more about females as they have the stiches !!

lucifer is now chipped and neutered. he ignored me all night and morning cos i wouldnt feed him

and it was so hard leaving him at the vets (im sure they thought i was mad, i just couldnt stop myself telling them to look after him etc

)
hes not in the least bit sleepy or groggy or off his food tho, well hes still running about but hes not a ginger blur so he probably is feeling it. so proud of him for behaving so well, the vet nurse said hes and angel (hehe

) out of a pasta bowl! hurrah! mind you he also bats the water and sticks his paws in it so he might get bored...
id tried different heights of cups and bowls and glasses but i remembered id read somewhere (highly likely here!) about some cats liking to drink from something where their whiskers dont touch the sides?

as im now keeping lucifer, should i go through the internet lost and found ads and put "rehomed" or ask for him to be taken off? is that mean??

well hes had his first vac, fleaded and wormed and booked for castration on monday!

vet said he was in good nick and said he was lovely- he didnt growl or squirm for his vac either, just sort of squated a bit more and threw me a

look, and he took his worming tablet no trouble at all

for all the nice comments, its me thats the lucky one though!

well noones claimed lucifer, so im gonna keep him!

hes booked in for first vaccs tomorrow and an mot and when hes got the all clear he'll be getting the chop and chip, he'll get flead and wormed as well tomorrow i think, unless the vet has any objections?

this has become his bestest sleeping position, probably cos its driving me batty!

he sounds like one of my fosters, she was kept in the bathroom initially as the vet thought she had cat flu, and you had to check the bath daily cos she would put her toys in there!! My bedroom is next door to the bathroom, so it was a lovely few weeks!! If he is eating wet food, then I wouldn't worry too much about extra water, wet food is 80% moisture, so most cats dont need that much more on top, but adding extra water to it will help.

-- Tom cat smell can get through to even the most burned out noses hee hee. I see what you mean about the owners though, however as you say you've done all the posters, contacted the right organisations etc ... I cant help thinking he'll be better off where he is so i'd stop looking now and consider him found

As long as he's not getting out or spraying etc you could wait another week or two probably but perhaps not much longer incase he does start spraying then you might have him re covering the area coz his smell is there. Also i'd say as soon as he gets his vaccinations the better so he'll be protected from cat diseases some of which are airborne.

doesnt sound to me as though his previous owners could have been very responsible really .

If you are adding extra water in his food that is fine as he'll get quite alot out of that, would still be nice for him to drink abit aswell though. You could also try water in a glass or cup, ive heard some say on here that their cats like to drink out of that !

hi lynn, thanks for the help, ive had taps dripping since he got here (the plumbing in my flats abit suspect, thank god im not on a meter!!) but hes not fussed, at least not that ive seen,ive tried leaving them running a little too. fountains on the wishlist but wanted to see how much the vet bills gonna be ( chop,chip, flea,worm and MOT) dont worry hes not got any of my cereal milk- it just doesnt stop him trying..every morning. im having to eat standing up in the middle of the room!

is it bad for him to have cat milk? hes refusing it anyway i ust thought it would be better than no fluids?
at the moment hes got food in gravey and im mixing some water in (he eats/drinks that, is it enough though?)
id like to castrate him as soon as possible ( covering lucifers ears

) i just wanted to give his owners (if he has any) a chance to claim him. the cpl said that its not rare for people to wait 2/3 weeks before looking for their missing cat but i personally wouldnt want to give him back to someone that cared so little for him or to be honest someone that waited a week, then for all i know his owners could be away and whoever was looking after him hasnt bothered to start looking. how long do you think i should wait?
how do you mean stink??? hes not spraying if thats what u mean? ive not noticed him smelling but then i work in a lab, solvents might have killed off any sense of smell!

Great to hear the updates, he is gorgeous and sounds very mischeivous like my cody.

I would try to encourage him to drink water though, its really quite important...many cats like a slightly running or dripping tap to drink / play from and also long term thinking you could try a cat water fountain thingy. Cat milk is a treat not a drink and also if he likes cows milk he shouldnt really have that either as most cats are lactose intolerant so it could give him digestive problems.

He sounds like he needs castrated sooner rather than later (does he not stink yet ?? LOL) Mind you he sounds very ike cody and he was neutered at 4 mnths old LOL.

I'd see if he likes a dripping tap first of all and that might encourage the drinking, mind you cody sits in the sink waiting for the tap to be turned on then an hour later the place is soaking LOL
