Updte from new owners. Sable was another one of our rescue cats rehomed earlier in the year.. A 9month old female tabby

Hi Sharon

Sorry I couldnt get an internet connection - she is fab! We left her in the conservatory for a while but we noticed her and Sable playing with each other either side of the glass door - it was lovely. We introduced them in the evening and Sable grumbled a bit but Strudle was determined not to give up - Strudle slept on Kirstys bed on Sunday night and Sable on ours but on Monday night and each night since they have been together on our bed and when we wake up they kiss each other!

We have spent most of our time playing with them with their toys - they both love chasing games and are really starting to play together knocking the balls to each other and things. They have just had their breakfast together and are now causing havoc in the lounge.

Thanks so much - it was really the right thing for both of them - they are going to be life long chums. Marks off all day today so there will be plenty of playing going on!

Just to say I had the pleasure of meeting Strudle today.  :Luv: Very much a puss you could easily shove in your pocket and leg it quick.  :evillaugh:

She's doing fine in Angela's excellent care and leading dear Lettuce in to all sorts of trouble. I have a feeling she'll be on her way to a new home soon.  ;)

Where have I seen that igloo before?  :shify: :evillaugh:

She is the image of my bridge babe Lucy. Heavens she was a terror, that one! She would lay in wait for the postie and attack his fingers as the letters came through the door, just like a dog.

Strudle look adorable, though. I'm sure she'll grow up to be a nice girl. Well done, Angela. :)

Strudle is doing very well. Being a kitten, when I let her out of the pen for some excersize I end up following her around every where trying to make sure she doesn't get into any trouble or places she can't get out of or trying to jump up on things(!) or causing trouble with Lettuce. It's exhausting!

Here she is in all her kitten glory   :yesss:

Hiya, taking up the Strudle story.

She's currently fast asleep on her bed snuggled up to her soft doggy. She has eaten quite well and drinking, and giving tiny bits of poo (so for the moment i'm going to say she is okay in that department) She's a really pretty long haired tabby with a little white bit around her nose and under her  chin and she has those adorable little whispy bit in her ears. She's a kitten and as such doesn't like being in a pen at all! I put a small ball in with her for a little bit of entertainment whch she likes but its the tops of furnature, cutains etc that are to be avoided for the next few weeks or so and longer if I can help it  :ok:

She' s not having too much trouble with her pelvis at the moment, wobbles a bit then sits down. She's already sat in her food bowl once!
So we're just chillin, takling it slow. Lettuce came along earlier, muttered something about Darn kids and went off again.

ll post pics as soon as I have fixed found the camers.

This puss is coming to us tomorrow, after the vets contacted us to take her on. The lovely Angela is going to give her a few weeks of pen rest if needed.. We called her Strudel... Photos and details to follow tomorrow....

puss didnt need a op, just cage rest. The last i heard the vets where holding her for a few days... as of yet we havent been asked to take her on. This vet is good with their own rehoming so they may not need us

We have a little boy in our care who has had a similar thing, he was about 10 weeks when we got him. We don't know how he got his injuries but he was found wandering outside the gym where our Homing and Welfare Officers go so the girl from the gym who spotted him knew who to got to! He is sooo gorgeous and he has had one big operation now from which he is recovering well but may have to have another. We are hopeful he will make a full recovery but he may always have some residual problems. Hopefully this little one will do as well as our little Fudge. I'll have to put a separate thread on for him  :Luv2:

Poor little soul ..... we shouldn't assume she was thrown from a window though ... she may have jumped / fallen.

Keeping everything crossed for her

12wk old kitten at our vets with broken pelvis (HOMED)
« Reply #1 on: February 20, 2009, 08:06:06 AM »
This puss cat is at the vets awaiting an owner (""""!) to claim her.. I doubt it!! Was found in Herne Bay high street nr the library member of the public picked her up and took her to one of our vets.. She has a pelvis broken but was only xrayed yesterday.. But nothing to be done at the moment.. So have no idea how serious or not... She isnt in our care yet and the vets havnt asked her to take her on yet... But who would do such a thing!! Not sure how successful pelvis fratures are in such young babes... Anyhow...wait and see if we are needed..

That was the second call from vets yesterday the other a ginger senior puss handed in to a vet a few days ago. Very thin.. But the owners came forward yesterday (no chip et) cat was 15 yrs old and had thyroid issues.. But you can see why chipping is so important.... Also the vets didnt even think that.. We were on the verge of taking him in our care... Just shows you.. Anyhow puss was chipped and owners given a earful on why its so important esp in cats that dont look their best..
