 :thankyou:
To everyone who made a donation, the kind words, the support and your amazing generosity.  You have changed Samui's life, and indeed mine too.  Once again I am at a loss for words, but please know that I shall be forever grateful for what you all have done for my boy.  He is really doing well and I can see how his eye is getting clearer.  I am still trying to get a camera to take an updated pic of his eye but as soon as I find one I'll update the pic.
We had a lovely weekend together and I spoiled them rotten   :evillaugh: but they both deserved it!
I really hope that I can also be part of something like what you have all done for me.  Thanks everyone!!!
Lana

Just an update for everyone. We have raised the full amount needed!

One of our members has put up the shortfall that we had left over so Tan is in the process of transferring funds now so that we can get the funds ready to transfer to the vet in South Africa. I sent an email to the clinic yesterday asking them for the final amount as one of our members kindly donated direct from her own South African account. We will have this paid off next week!

Thank you again to everyone who kindly donated to this special fundraising effort we put up, especially as this isn't a rescue in the UK.  No one was more of a sceptic when Lana first posted here than me, but it does my heart wonders to see how once we verified this story our members pulled together to help. You are truly amazing people. Thank you.

:thanks: very much!
Going to spend Easter with my two boys, so looking forward to it very much!  Think they are going to be fed-up with me after this long weekend!

Happy Easter to all of you...

I doubt very much if your boys will get fed up with you ... they know their mummy loves them very much and if they can have you at home all weekend spoiling them rotten I'm sure they will be over the moon  ;)

Hope you all have a fab Easter xxx

Heya all!
Just to let you know Samui is doing really well.  His eye looks much better and it looks as though it is starting to heal.  He is still on the medication but down to twice a day.  He's been playing like a kitten again, running around and jumping on everything and Sullivan not far behind him all the time!
I am still trying to keep him calm but that is something he doesn't want to do, just like a naughty child - but I let them have their fun up to a point before they get too rough.  He is still just indoors, don't want him to be outside in all the dust, etc.
Just glad my boy can see and that he doesn't have any pain anymore.
I'll definitely keep you updated and I have to take a pic of his eye but struggling a bit on my own  :), but I'll try my best!
Chat soon!
Thanks again to you all... you are  :best 2:

Great news - I am really happy for you both

I know how critical it was saving his only eye.  :)

I hope so, but Sullivan knows Samui is "Da Boss" in the house and if he gets too much for Samui he usually lets Sullivan know he's had enough.  But I worry anyway... guess we all do about our kids...

Yes true, but he can definitely see - Samui and Sullivan played like two teenagers last night and this morning, running around, playing hide and seek.  Although Doctor Bauer said I can treat Samui like a "normal cat" again, I am still a bit scared to not interfere when they play, it can sometimes get a bit rough!  Today is his first day back home "alone".... I can't wait to get back home...

Just in case anyone else would like them, have copied Ruth's earlier post:

you can actually go direct to www.paypal.com and send money from a debit or credit card. You don't need a paypal account, just a valid email address and card.

Just copy the address of who you are paying purrs@purrsinourhearts.co.uk and that is who you pay.

 :Hello: everyone!
Okay, I got the pic from Doctor Bauer.  He took this yesterday when Samui went for his checkup.  If you are very squeamish - maybe you shouldn't look...
I'll try to update pics regularly so you all can share in the progress of his eye (I just need to find someone with a camera that can do closeup pics, but I'll find someone I am sure!).

And once again, a huge thanks to everyone for your :donate:'s!!!!

That's really great news Lana.

To update everyone on how the fundraising has gone this week, it's unbelievable that it's only been a week. We have raised £213 so far and after bank charges of £10 to transfer funds, if we were to transfer today, it will be roughly R3,240 we're helping pay towards the R4,585 left to pay for the vet.

Thank you everyone for all your donations. We're going to keep this open for another couple days for anyone else who still wishes to donate a little something.

You have all been fantastic, especially for a cause that is not a UK rescue, your kindness is very much appreciated by all of us.

What beautiful photos of them together.   ;D   Am so glad he's back home with you and looks to be doing very well, bless his little cotton sox!
So - er - is he useful at work?  'cos if so, I've got some jobs for him....    :wow: :evillaugh:

Hi Sue
Samui asked me to give you a message; he thought about your "job offer" and has decided to decline.  He said he's very busy over here with trying to do some filing and this is already interfering with his "catnaps" but he said he'll definitely keep the offer in mind.  :evillaugh:

Hello everyone..
I just got to work back from the Vet's.  He is very happy with Samui's eye.  The graft is "taking" well and I can reduce the drops and eye gel to twice a day.  He can start jumping and playing again (Sullivan is going to be so happy about that!!!  :) )  He wants to see Samui in 4 - 6 months time.  I almost started crying again when I got the news this morning that Samui's eye is looking good because I was so worried about "what if" and all that...
He took some photos of his eye so I just emailed him to ask if he can email it over to me.  I hope he'll send it so I can upload the images.  I'll definitely keep you all updated.

:thanks: to everyone who made a donation and who helped me to make this possible!  Samui can see because of what you all did for him (and Dr Bauer obviously  :) ).
