Not sure if it was down to Purrs or Catchat but I like to think so

I  have put a few people onto Joyce and Diane

Thanks Ela, it's been such a huge help.

A little heartwarming thing I witnessed yesterday. I went to take some kitten pictures (4 out of the 5 were black) and there were a couple looking at them. They had picked out a kitten who was separated from his mum far too early. He is, by most standards (not mine obv!) not the most attractive kitty in the world, he is a bit gangly with long legs and a small body but they were besotted by him. They said he reminded them of the cat they'd had for years and had gone to the bridge. They were such nice people, were talking like people on here and really seemed to know their stuff. I hope this little angel has a new mum and dad soon  :Luv:

But I believe in judging situations by individuals not by a postcode. Sorry, that probably sounds really abrupt!

Not at all. But I am afraid that is how it is, more so I would say if a cat is wanted indoor/outdoor. because then it is not just you and your family the cat is likely to encounter, However, it is very different if an indoor cat is wanted.
Near here, well about 6 - 8 miles away on one estate alone we had almost 40 cats tested for FIV & FeLV only 3 were neg. The and kittens  cats wonder everwhere and we take in at least one RTA from that estate a week, when I say estate it is very small and in reality this was from just 2 roads,  there is no way we would ever home a cat there that would be allowed out, although I appreciate that there must be some very nice people living in some of the houses.

I do appreciate that Ela, and am in no way belittling the work done by the CPL. But I believe in judging situations by individuals not by a postcode. Sorry, that probably sounds really abrupt!

Have to say, I've had discussions with members of the local CPL and the places they deem as unsafe for cats to be outdoors I don't necessarily agree with

I don't wish to be rude but that could be something to do with the problems they hear about in a certain area or the number of cats they have to bring in from it. Often it is only when you are on the very front line of rescue you know these things, We have over 350 members but only a handful will know the true situation in any area.

Aww, that is wonderful news.
I personally have let some of my fosters go to be indoor only cats, but only ones that show no interest in going outside whilst here.

lol I dont think I will pass CPs homecheck as it needs to be indoor kitten/cat & they dont like that sort of thing

That is absolutely not true.

Well, good news, since I posted that, we have rehomed 8 cats, including the blue/grey tabbies, the little lonely black and white girl and two of the kittens in one of the basket pictures! I'm sooo happy for the babies and their new slaves.

Not sure if it was down to Purrs or Catchat but I like to think so, so thanks all who have read and anyone who's going to be a lucky parent!  :Luv:

Cpl. Smokey came from this very branch of CP and he is a happy house cat. I told the ladies there that it would be a trial run. He would have to be happy indoors with Josh and he's adapted perfectly.

They didn't mind although it's not their personal belief. I think it depends from branch to branch. I think ours are fairly open minded and care more about the cat's happiness than any of the tabboo debating subjects.

Raties, depending how far you are, we could arrange transport (i.e. me in my little Polo) and surely a homecheck by a local CP branch? Let me know if you're interested and I can get you more info. Thanks for looking!

Awww, they're all stunning.  :Luv: I don't think my cats would be happy with a kitten being introduced due to the youngest being five! I hope they all find loving homes really soon.

Hello! I popped up to our CP shelter in Scarcliffe this weekend to update our CatChat page. I have to say that I am incredibly shocked by the number of kittens we have at present. I know people on here have been on about this for ages but I had to see it with my own eyes to realise the magnitude of this long/second kitten season.

All of these cuddle-bundles need homes and there are a couple more besides. The full list of cats/kittens available is here:

http://www.catchat.org/ashfield/cgibin/prtoc.cgi

But here are some cuddle-bundles in the meantime. Please note, we do not rehome at Christmas due to the number of unwanted Christmas presents appearing on our doorsteps when people get bored of them. I'm sure people on here are far more knowledgable on this but I thought I'd better stick in a cheeky reminder.

Ok, here are some purr-boxes for you to drool over...

here's a little lonely one....(with half of my face....)

...and more....

...and finally these two who are living in a cattery as there's no room at the inn (Woodland Nook).
These two aren't at the main shelter so the contact info is different.

If you want any more information or are interested, the contact details are on the CatChat page. Otherwise pm/email me and I'll put you in touch with the right people.

Thanks!  :Luv:
