to be fair that sounds pretty fair on that rehoming place..there is no reason why the owners couldnt have that cats checked today and even pay in advance if they need dentals ... this might not be done before fri but like i said she could discuss situation with vet and have the vet agree on a proper quote and pre pay....pre pay the vet i mean !

sounds fair to me.

Well i dont know how any one else would work this  but i would ask them for their vets & contact them & find out how the cats health & temperament are etc etc as folk have been know to lie about such things.   But im suspicious on the sudden 'emigrating' bit   its just another well used excuse.  The £50 per cat donation well think thats resonable ...dont you think

Maybe their original plan fell through?
Cats are like little bundles of razor blades wrapped in soft fur.

reply from chaplehouse---->

I do (and can) take cats but can only do so if the owner will pay the relevant fees (£50 per cat) and also, the cats need to be in a condition fit for homing. That means that they will have seen a vet in the last 3 months, and have no coat and dental requirements. We are not a charity you see, so have to ensure the animals coming in are not going to cause a funding issue. It is not uncommon for an incoming older Persian to cost over £600 if we don't apply these stipulations.

hmm??

hehe i just pm'd you ;D

i could foster them for a bit defo, but yeah i think a donation is a good idea.

i emailed chaplehouse about taking them on if we coud somehow get them down south at some point.. either that or rehome them ourselves..

First Id say whoever takes them on fostering to rehome should ask in my opinion  for a minimum  donation to put towards food/vet bills(if any) ...this is only fair

Second  sarah were no that far from each other lassie lol   As i have small furries aswell as cats I think i would need to work something out ?

Maybe we can meet up & you can my me a coffee & some cream cakes lol

Re: Question
« Reply #12 on: August 08, 2007, 13:21:06 PM »
ok, i just contacted the owner.

she still has the 2 cats, they are 12 years old and she rescued them 5 years ago but has to leave for an immediate trip back to america. (flight leaves friday morning.)

she said they are beautifully natured cats and wants them to go to an extremely loving home etc..

i couldn't keep the cats, as much as i would like to :evillaugh: but i could foster them until a new home/rescue is found..

anyone have any ideas?

Me and OH will be driving back from Edinburgh on 26th - I know this is a couple weeks off but we are driving back from there down to Manchester, so if any rescue (or purrs person) wants to take them in who is en route, we can help with the journey.

Sure OH wont mind  ;D

Where are they? Do you know if they are male or female? 12 isnt that old (well not in my terms anyway - seeing as I adopted a 20 (ish!) year old, who lived another 4 years with me!) My house is a cat pensioners home - ages range from 9 - 20 !!

Chapelhouse don't take in many cats for rehoming now, they only take in 'special cases'

What a surprise, sadly we hear that almost every week, and definitely every week someone who is being evicted usually that day.

Chances aren't too great for any 12 year olds unfortunately - Unless there's a few more Desleys knocking around  :(
