actually we haven't seen any sun for a week  >:(

I have spoken to the Jumpster, and expecting him to say "No, Mummy, I want to stay with you...", the ungreatful little swine is packing up his cat nip mice and says "At least I won't have to have my ears plastered in factor 30..."  :P No more pilchards for him!  :boxer:

Hi Julie and welcome .  That Jumper is just drop dead gorgeous and he is welcome to an indefinite  holiday in the sunny West Country anytime.  ;)

:thanks:

I did a job in Portishead last year... does that count as West Country?  :-:

Hi, Mark, and thanks for the welcome.  :wow:

We live near the river, not far from that deli. I've got family in Whitstable so I get that way too. I expect we'll meet at some point some how.  :shy:

Still haven't heard from any of the CP people Sharon gave my name too, which means either they are too busy or there's no cats in need for me to help out with this way at the moment. Let's hope its the latter.

Sharon said she was going on holiday, so I'll give her a nudge in a week or so if I've still heard nothing.

Hi Julie,

Welcome to Purrs!

I also do a bit of voluntary work for Sharon at Canterbury CP - I'm in Whitstable.

We are only down the road from you - sometimes go to Sandwich for Lunch  :evillaugh:

Seriously - I love that little deli in Sandwich, near the old bus terminal.

BTW - for others, this is a real road sign

DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

Hello and  :welcome:

Hope you like it here!!
For a man to truly understand rejection, he must first be ignored by a cat.

Dogs believe they are human. Cats believe they are God.

No amount of time can erase the memory of a good cat, and no amount of masking tape can ever totally remove his fur from your couch.

Cor! I never felt so welcomed!  :wow:
Yes, Sandwich is a real place. It's 15 miles up the coast from Dover - or 8 miles down the coast from Ramsgate. As we keep telling all those German tourists that troop through the lanes looking for Westminster Cathedral, Sandwich is one of the famous Cinque Ports and was a major medievil port until Thanet silted up.... er... that's enough history.  :evillaugh:

I have found another pic of the Jumpster - it's his classic "You may feed me now" pose. Pics of Tilly never turn out well because of her colour, but I shall try again as I'd kinda like not to leave her out. Tilly, bless her, has lost quite a few teeth due to previous neglect by former 'owners'. When she yarns, all you can see are one left upper canine tooth and one lower right one, which means even when she does get a mouse or a bird no harm comes to it - she bites and the things just goes sideways in her mouth and escapes!  :(  :-[ :evillaugh:

I can see I'm going to like it here.  ;)

Hi Jule and  :welcome: to Purrs.

In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

:welcome: to Purrs, Julie!  You'll find we are a very friendly bunch.  Tilly and Jumpy sound like real characters.

PS Well done for volunteering with Canterbury CP - one of the folks there is a member here.

Hello

My name is Julie, also called Pinkbear in doors because I'm rotund.  ;)

I have two cats at present. Tilly, aged 13, small, very black, very sleek and demure and likes to pretend she's not around my 'blending into the background'. Leave anything black coloured around and she'll be curled up on top or in it within seconds. She's also my office assistant but we differ in approach to spelling and she gets upset when I stop her from standing on the keyboard. Tilly is my little Battersea Dogs and Cats Home girl.

Jumpy, pictured in my avatar, is 12. He is also sometimes called The Jumpster. He's big, fluffy, has all the appearance of a Turkish Van but is unlikely to be one. I found him aged around 14 weeks at the back of my garage, starving, filthy, etc... I tried really hard to trace where he'd come from. They must have had dogs because The Jumpster is ace at playing fetch and football. He is scared of spiders, though.

We all live in Sandwich, Kent and will shortly be starting some voluntary work as a rehoming checker for Cats Protection Canterbury. I say shortly because at the moment they are so busy, there's no one to talk me through the training.

Er... that's it for now!

jxx
