To be honest many people who have rung us with a flea problem have tried those bombs, all I will say is they still had the problem otherwise they would not have contacted us. As with every preparations that are available in pet shops and supermarlets, due to EC regulations they cannot have the ingredients necessary to do as the Cornish would say 'a proper job'

D'you need one per room of them? I was informed by the nice lady on the phne that it takes six-eight weeks after spraying to get rid of all the fleas.(It's been about four.)

If you have a real infestion at your house it might be worth using a flea bomb!!!  :wow: to deal with the little butter!

Just called Acclaim to ask how long their product is supposed to take before all the fleas clear up. Apparantly their product is supposed to last a year, too.

Yep, Ela Acclaim is a product sold by vets which is supposed to last up to seven months! I used Indorex last time I had this problem and really should have bought that again. But someone I know had this Acclaim left from when he had cats(he had them up until recently)and so let me use the Acclaim he had left.

Nick, the same thing happened to us too! The heating went on, and there seemed to be some sort of mass uprising! Yuck, I hate them, they make me so itchy!

my place is the same.
It wasn't a problem until i stuck the heating on a couple of weeks back.

I'm fighting a losing battle really. Its a shame to see them scratch themselves so much. I only frontlined them 3 weeks ago .

They both love combing and brushing and I try to do them both every night. I gives me a chance to check them over too. BooBoo is very good really but in't as patient and trusting as P .

I'll make a concerted effort this w/e .grrrr :censored:

just thought. It all started when the other tom cat started to come in during the day. He must sleep under the table on one of the chairs as my two always look very pointedly under the table when they come in from outside . Maybe he is a stray afterall. He sure looks a bit unkempt

Fleas are AWFUL! We're currently fighting an ongoing battle too, Nick. Just when I think we've cleared up the last of the pesky critters, a tiny red mark appears on my ankle!The cats on the other hand seem to not be getting bitten at all! The whole house has been flead 3 times with Acclaim and the cats have been Frontlined....I think a new species has evolved in our house! :Crazy:

I agree perhaps this would wise, as you possibly know there are many many implications of cats being out in the dark, (although I appreciate fleas is not one of them). I am also sure you know that it will now be necessary to spray the whole;w house with something like Staykill and also treat  Peanut for Tapeworm (if not up to date) as they go hand in glove with fleas.

thanks for the kind offer Mark. I think a vet nurse friend will be able to pick some up for me today at the surgery. Peanut has definitly been hanging with the wrong sort lately and if he doesn't pull his socks up he's going to be grounded lol :rofl:

It might be an idea to start keeping fleabag ... oooh sorry Peanut in at night!  He is obviously hanging round with some rather undesirables either that or he has found a hidey hole which has had hedgepigs in!!

VetUK has pretty quick (free first class) delivery anyway, I normally get my order the next day or the day after.  If you order tonight you can put a message in a box asking them to despatch asap and you'll probably get it Tuesday anyway which would be the same as special delivery.

poor old Peanut.

I flea comb and brush him every night and once in a while there is the odd flea and I treat him with Frontline spoton .

Tonight I combed him a few times and over 20 fleas came out in the comb! yikes.

I know he's been in somewhere to get these as we don't have a flea pronlem in the house  ( well we didn't lol)

 . Peanut has taken to staying out all night lately because the local Tom has been coming into the house at night and has beaten him up badly a few times in his own home  Poor old P is terrified of the slightest sound in the house now.

I'm right out of frontline and won't be able to get any until next weekend now jeez we'll be knee deep by then

I'm itching all over now.
