I got some of the cosma as samples from zooplus. Buffy wasn't too keen, but it does look like proper meat, not chunks or pate so probably worth a try for your two.

We use Cosma and Cosma Thai from Zooplus = we use the big tins and currently have 4 feisty feral kittens in our ensuite eating the kitten version to be honest I think it is better than Applaws we have less runny bums with it

Also Encore has a high meat content as well and can be bought in most supermarkets

I've tried them on some Hi Life 'Indulge Me' sachets this week and these seem to be up to their exacting standards.
Anyone tried Cosma? It seems to be priced lower than the other applaws style variations.

I use 'nurturing by nature', they are a local company. I get mine in 700g boxes but they also do 400g. I think Julie uses them too, or used to.

What raw do you feed, Lyn? I am planning on trying Kito with raw but my main problem is lack of freezer space so difficult to order in a large amount.

Alfie inhales his food, whatever he is given.

Sky also likes her food but is still a little unsure about the raw. She's currently having 1/2 Tesco tinned and 1/2 raw and that seems to go down well.

Kito eats whatever he's given - I mean, it's food! Any food gets inhaled in about 2 seconds and then I have to play with him in the kitchen so that he doesn't pinch Mosi's

Mosi is pretty good too but he's on an elimination diet at the moment. He eats a bit slower than Kito but he doesn't have the advantage of a full set of teeth

Meal times are over very quickly here!

My five only usually eat AGAIL, but have been turning their noses up recently, Royal Canin or Go Cat soft and Crunchy dry, I bought a large box of Whiskas Simply poultry, they devoured it for two meals and are now back on AGAIL! CATS!

Tried them all with the Hoolies and they won't eat any of them

Felix and AGAIL, Royal Canin dry and James Wellbeloved Turkey are their foods of choice.

Yes the porta21 are flakes. Although I think they do some in jelly as well. Buffy only likes the flakes so I am in the same boat as you. If they do like the porta 21 they do 400g tins which are great value but not good for one cat as after a day in the fridge Buffy says food is inedible

I sometimes feed the Hi-Life tuna flakes as a treat, but I wouldn't feed exclusively as they won't contain taurine etc. essential for health.

Canagan went down well here, but at £1.05 for a 70g tin... They sell it in Pets Corner stores, which are in lots of garden centres and they also have online stores. I know they say they are complete, but I'm not sure about foods that are nearly all muscle meat/fish flakes. I wouldn't feed it for more than one meal a day.

Hi-life pouches are very high meat content and work out around 50p for a 100g pouch, but the texture is a bit like supermeat - ditto Nature's Menu.

I'm not sure whether it's the texture or the taste to be honest. I suspect the texture has something to do with it as they really aren't keen on pate. Before we got Freya and Gobi, they were already eating Applaws so maybe it's a habitual / in built thing.

I think I will give Porta 21 a go as it seems the best fit . The 90g tins are definitely less expensive than applaws etc but more than Tesco Finest / Sainsburys collection. I liked the look of the Feringa pouches as they seem good value. However, I know that they won't eat them as they have dandelion, cress etc in them which sounds great to me but Freya and Gobi prefer their food more basic.

Sheba fine flakes? don't think it's the best out there but I think that one is grain free
Porta 21 is flakes I think
can't remember whether Tesco finest was one you already feed (pooter slow to scroll up)

Is it the texture of applaws that is popular or the taste? Applaws and Encore contain animal digest which tends to make them go a bit crazy for them.
Canagan is flakes like applaws and is complete. expensive though and not easy to find

My cats are really fussy and rather than chunks or pate, they like the shredded varieties like applaws. They also aren't keen on gravy. Will order a variety of samples from zooplus with my next order and see which they take a liking to.

Mine looks like bozita tins but not the packs! Tins are pate and cartons are chunks. Bozita is fairly lean so I would personally only feed as part of a rotation. Both mine like it though

Zooplus - Grau, feringa, animonda, granatapet, bozita, smilla amongst others

Sky loves lillys garden food and also Wellness cat food from Pets at Home....neither is particularly cheap ( same price as Applaws)

Buffy also likes Almo Nature and Porta 21 if they will eat big tins the porta21big tins are good value. I buy them from zooplus.

I tried to go over to bozita, the packs are quite large so it works out fairly reasonable price wise but unfortunately three of the four wouldn't eat it

I have thought about it. To be honest, it sounds terrible and like I'm a total wimp but I'm a vegetarian and I feel more comfortable handling sachets than raw meat. Also, another wimp confession, it scares me a little bit as I don't really understand the ins and outs of it too well.

Hi,

I'm looking for a high meat content wet food that you can buy in large quantities and that won't cost a fortune.
It doesn't need to be complete as the cats are on Royal Canin Siamese Dry as well.

Current foods on rotation (quite expensive and only available in small packs)
Applaws
Thrive
Encore
Tesco Finest
Sainsburys Delicious Collection

Any advice / suggestions would be great.
