Vet Professionals are looking for some good quality photos of cats before and after their hyperthyroidism treatment. The photos will be used on posters and literature to help educate cat owners and veterinary professionals about this
important disease.
Hyperthyroidism is estimated to affect around 10% of elderly cats. Thankfully, it is generally a very treatable condition
with treatment options including:
* Anti-thyroid medication (eg Felimazole, Vidalta, Thiafeline)
* Feeding an iodine-restricted food (Hill’s Prescription diet y/d)
* Surgical removal of the thyroid (also known as a thyroidectomy)
* Radioiodine
