Can't you put freeze dried in those feeder puzzles?

Yes it's a shame there isn't a puzzle feeder we can use with raw or wet food (that I know of?!). That'd be great!

Thanks Hugo,

Alf has a puzzle feeder - although he only gets a few bits in this at suppertime as he is mostly fed raw food. He has a cattit circuit, a 'cats meow' and other stuff but he isn't interested in them! A whack-a-mouse looks interesting though!

Interactive cat toys provide lots of entertainment for indoor cats and lets them exhibit their natural hunting behaviours, some suggestions in the article below!

We usually include 2 toys in each of our monthly boxes and they're always the most well received of all of the items in the box!

In terms of non catnip toys obviously the Frenzy was really popular, also a similar teaser toy is the "Tiger Teaser" http://www.tigerteasers.com/ or another option might be the bunny ball https://www.etsy.com/listing/229978323/cat-toy-ball-natural-needle-felted

If you're wanting something with a little more "nip" there are lots of options of hand made toys with strong nip:
Plague Rats http://www.plaguerats.co.uk/
Cheshire and Wain http://www.cheshireandwain.com/all-products/?category=Catnip+Toys
Mollies mice http://www.mollysmice.co.uk/

All of the above toys have been rated highly by our subscribers, you can check out our pinterest board to see for yourself! https://www.pinterest.com/cathampurr/

Thanks for your suggestions.

We have a Flying Frenzy and a laser red dot. Alf does like the Frenzy but he likes to move from room to room, finding a different vantage point in each, and this is difficult for me.

I have seen the turbo scratcher and wondered whether cats seem to go for it. We have one of the toys that has a ball sandwiched between 2 bits of plastic but that has never elicited any interest. It's good to know that the scratcher comes recommended, might give it a try.

Alf has never shown any interest in bunny kicking anything other than my hand!

Paper carrier bags will sometimes do the trick, another time he will ignore then totally. I do find that a bit of catnip in the bottom (of the bag, not the cat  ) sometimes helps.

Alf did show a lot of interest in something today and was very upset when I took it away from him. I hope the blackbird in question survived  :(

Carrier bags are a favourite, handles cut of course. Look around for feathers when you are out, stick one on the end of a stick. Hours of fun  ;D

Wiggly worm from purrs shop is a good one. Also the hare tastic attachment. Made from real hare skin

Another one that should perk him up is Purrs Buffalo Snake Attachment, made from real buffalo skin. Excellent toy. Strong too  ;D

My last cat Chloe loved this one:

My friends cat Megan also loved it when she inherited it from Chloe.

What about one of the laser toys? Don't know if you have a flying frenzy, my boys love it, not only when 'flying' but also love to chase some of smaller attachments when dragged along the floor. They also love something they can kick the living daylights out of  :evillaugh: , was just looking for Algies favourite in the Purrs shop when I saw a zebedee pouncer toy which sounds like it would be a hit with the boys ....best get me purse out  :evillaugh:

I believe that Alfs has been talking to the other cats about this but I thought I would get some human advice too!

Alf is not yet 4 years old and still wants to play a lot. He is sometimes bullying Cleo and I think this is because he is bored. However, it's a real problem finding something that will keep him amused. It seems that the other cats have recommended lots of things that he can throw around but the problem is that he doesn't want to play on his own. I can throw/roll something down the hall and he will happily chase after it, then he waits for me to collect it and throw again, he doesn't knock it around himself. I think the problem is that he's just a wee bit lazy  :-[

I have bought a 'trixie' mouse ( http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/cat_toys/miscellaneous/other_interactive_toys/369447 ) but he really is not interested in it. I recently got a 'cats meow' ( http://www.jmldirect.com/uk/pets/cats-meow-fun-revolving-cat-toy-motorised/invt/c0ecm70100000001 ) and he will play with it for a few minutes - but he has worked out that he can catch the thing by lying on it

The place is littered with balls, chewy mice, dancing nanas etc and he just isn't interested. He might have a go at something soft once, when it is really stinky, but that's about it.

We have one like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ancol-703800-Acticat-Plastic-Playground/dp/B002ZX9UEW/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1433534997&sr=8-10&keywords=cat+toys , I might as well not have bothered, Alfie just lies on his side until the ball comes round  to him.

He will chase after fevvas onna stick, the red dot and the frenzy but he has very specific ideas of how he wants to play with these. He likes to go from room to room, finding a new hiding place each time and then jumping out on the prey. Unfortunately, due to my disability, my  capacity for this kind of thing is limited (also going up and down the hall to fetch balls etc).

He loves his cube - but as a bed rather than a toy - and used to enjoy his tunnel when he was smaller but has outgrown the one we have and I'm reluctant to buy another if it is just going to join the pile of things he has rejected!

The only thing he seems to spend any time playing with are the things he catches himself - and I do tend to remove those rather than having blood and guts all over the house

I just don't know what else to do for him, I don't mind spending a bit of money but the purse is not bottomless and I don't want to throw good money after bad.

Any suggestions?
