Most seller request payment by paypal though, in my (albeit limited) experience.

I bought a cat tree last week that I've been after from zooplus for a while.  Did it on impulse spurred on by the imminent arrival of little Kito.  Probably should have saved my money for Mosi's dental but it's done now.  Still in it's box awaiting assembly.  It's this one

http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/scratching_posts/large/large_cat_trees_height_180_cm_over_/284676

I wanted a narrow one and I like the fact that the base has sisal on one side for scratching.   Not big enough for you though Gill.

Love the title of this thread btw

Gill, I am sure I got an email saying that Paypal and ebay were separating I think that it was starting to get so big in was contravening one of the laws regarding how big and interconnected they were and I cannot for the life of me think of the name of it. It'll come to me when I have switched off the lappy. Oh well. :tired:

Drop Sarah an IM am sure she will get back to you

There are an awful lot of on line sellers and you do get what you pay for - the kitty city to be honest hasn't stood up to the abuse or size of some of my boys the ones over 5kgs have bent bits - the Zooplus ones however are still standing and some are several years old and ours get a lot of use and abuse

Try Sunny Harbours web site Paul makes them to measure an they are a Purrs rescue so money going to a good cause - we have one from them

Problem with kitty city is it can be unstable an it is a sod to build unless you have 4 hands to get the plastic bits in place - we have a half built one waiting for OH to come home and finish!!!

They are a bit of a sod to put together, but I did manage mine in about 4hours.  ;D

Are you saying that Kiity City is no good, apart from a couple of reviews its pretty much a rave and so far not seen anything siutable except from the States.

No. It's good I would give it 4 out of 5  ;D

Personally I would go for this one

Then just put a bigger platform on top and cover it with whatever you like

I wasnt going for one tower and each unit, it says is 45x45cm............is that not right? I have the space for something similiar to the picture but configured different Lupin is a born climber so was hoping he would like it.

The carpet tiles are 48x48 so not much diffrence.

You said I would be able to fix a hard top to it and would then covwe with a carpet tile ............upside down lol.

You will not get one with the size of top platform you want Gill. I have looked everywhere. No matter which one you get you will have to put a larger platform on yourself and probably a couple of supports.
My home made one has a large platform on top supported with 3 shelf brackets. Mind you the larger 180cm one I posted the link too would be very easy to alter, just screw a larger platform on top of the existing one

The kitty city is a bit wobbly to have that high in a single tower, you would have to buy more and build it up like steps like mine, so I don't think it would be suitable. I had problems with it when I bought it, it kept coming apart but they sent me replacements and now is good. The poles weren't tight enough

Good hunting  ;D

Thanks Andrew the first as you suspected not tall enough and the second does not have a big enough top platform, at present its still looking like kitty city but read some reviews which give ne doubts..................not very steady and not as flexible as expected when moving the different sections to other places.

Gonna have to make up mind soon.

This thread is very useful as the cat tree I bought last year has lost all 3 sleeping platforms

It looked like this one but I got it from EBay and I think it was not as sturdy as it could have been. We still have it, without the sleeping platforms, but it is not as popular as it used to be.

Found this one Gill. Don't know if it's tall enough though and may require some adjustment to fit, but looks great, very modern

I don't think you have to have a Paypal account to use Ebay? Saying that I  haven't used ebay in months and they sent some emails that I ignored saying there were changes. I spend too much money when I look at it. :innocent:, I don't like putting my card details into anything though as I don't trust the 'security' of secure sites. There have been too many hacked.

We have most versions of these and they stand a lot of use and abuse and all have an area suitable for feeding - Gigi uses this type in the kitchen I just removed the soft cushion

http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/scratching_posts/medium/medium_cat_tree_height_160_cm/476424

We also have this and even Star NFC can eat whilst standing on the pawprint area

http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/scratching_posts/large/large_cat_trees_height_180_cm/84900

Both are good value for under £60.00 and on offer at Zooplus

I need a cat tree for Lupin to replace the old fridge with a large pile of carpet tiles on top!!

It needs to be 4-5ft high and with a top base that is about 18innes square so he can lie on it and have his food dish up there.

Cant be any shorter but could be taller.

Only in the States do they seem to cater for cats bigger than kittens !!

have seen one lovely one for climbing but no good for the purpose of him having his food and sleeping

Any links or ideas will be gratefully received cos I am just noy up to making one
