Just got this update from Mandy (CC)

UPDATE - Good News! We have been told that all these cats (below)
were trapped and rescued prior to the demolition work. BIG THANKS to all who
shared this on, and well done to all the rescue folk who got stuck in and
helped the cats (Tendring Feral Rescue, RSPCA, Tendring Cats Protection (and
possibly others)!

Great news  ;D

I will move this to sorted now.

Panic over, I just got off the phone with Lorraine who is helping to co-ordinate this rescue.

They've been allowed into the house and got most of the cats out, and will be allowed to leave baited traps in the house tonight to catch the stragglers.

The demolition men are being very good apparently but the whole place is bolted shut overnight so no-one can get in to check the traps before morning when the house is due to be pulled down. It's not ideal but there has been a huge response from all local rescues, even rescues from Cornwall and Wales have offered to come and assist (as did I hence me having the inside track on this news) so the vast majority of the cats now have rescue spaces.

There may still be a couple of big Toms hanging around after the house is pulled down but there will be a continued effort to pick these boys up afterwards.

(Posted on behalf of Tendring Feral Rescue)

Rescue help needed - please Share to anyone in/near Essex who might be able to help:

"SUPER SUPER URGENT. Can anyone help please? 17 - 20 cats abandoned in a dilapidated house which is due for demolition on Thursday. We only have 24 hrs to get them to safety. They were left behind by the person who used to live there and are all in a terrible condition. Some have died and their bodies are still there. They are all terribly malnourished etc and in desperate need. They range in age from 5mths (or so) upwards. There are domestics, semi-ferals and ferals all muddled up together. We urgently need rescue spaces, trappers (with crush cages/traps), transporters - anyone who can lend a hand to get these poor cats out before the house is knocked down on top of them. If you can help in any way please contact Lorraine at Tendring Feral Rescue on 07724 077010. Location: Weeley, near Tendring, Nth Essex."
