By the way, I've got a load of renal food that I bought for Lucky, thinking she liked it, but in typical cat fashion she now turns her nose up at it!

Weirdly I seem to have ended up with one or two items that I particularly loved in the past, despite having lost out in the time battle in the last seconds.  There are some truly fab peeps on Purrs

Hi hun we had added two new rescues last year to our support list which was feral foundation and Yorkshire cat rescue and with the auction as we can sadly only support one rescue each year we need to integrate the new rescues in with the old ones. Last year we drew a draw to see which of the new rescues would be integrated 1st and that was Feral foundation so this year will be one of our old rescues and next year for Yorkshire
It's hard as all of our supported rescue need the auction support but sadly we can only support one each year.

At the end of the day, all of our rescues we support help the needy furbabes that are not as lucky as our own babes so every year we help those needy furkids

Wait, don't pelt me with rotten tomatoes just yet  I know it's early to mention the Chr*****s word    but it's all in a good cause 

For those new to Purrs here's a bit of background... Purrs the forum began very hastily in November 2006 as a result of CatChat having to close it's forum for a time - Tan and her OH, Chappie, got this site up and running within hours.  Gill and Tan had been planning a Christmas auction in aid of Ron's rescue at LostCatsBrighton and the small matter of not having a forum to host it wasn't going to stop them  And so began the Purrs Annual Christmas Auction (PACA ) in aid of a registered rescue on Purrs. We puts a huge amount of time and effort into the auctions every year to ensure they run like a precision watch and I'm sure this year will be no exception 

The Purrs Annual Christmas Auction (PACA ) has gone from strength to strength, despite these tough times we find ourselves in, and we really will have a hard job beating previous years amazing totals[/color]

This year will be in aid of Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue which is the next working rescue in rotation.They need our help to to enlarge their cat care facilities so they can cope with the ever increasing number of cats and kittens in need. Every penny raised will go to help the cats.

Now, more specific info will be posted closer to the time but basically it works like this:

If you have anything in your home that is postable, that you think another Purrs member would like, and more importantly would be prepared to bid on and pay for then it can go in the auction 

The person who is donating the item kindly also pays the postage to send the item directly to the winning bidder after the auction closes.

We've had some fantastic items donated over the years and absolutely everything is gratefully received - even down to a single teeny tiny mousey toy 

Bidding can be fierce at times so this is not for the faint hearted      but it's all fantasic fun while we raise funds to help the needy furkids. 

Here's just a few examples of the many (over 170) items in last years 2013 auction - everything from super cool cat toys, beds, books, luxury cards, mugs -

Specific details and how things work will be announced closer to the time but the auction will begin on 17th November 2012 and will run for two weeks to 30th November , so plenty of time to get the items in the post and to their new homes before Christmas.

That gives us all time to get together some bits and bobs to pop in the auction and to wrestle with ourselves about things we want to keep but know should go in the auction 

This year we have a special Auction section Tan & Mr Tan are working in now that works alot like ebay but suited for us so we can post silly fightin Talk as well as bid   
This will go up for us all to test very soon as we have to get it spot on before the big day!! 
So when it's up I will post ere and we can have a pre auction trial of it
