I think there's a condition - a kind of OCD - that people get, which involves pulling out hair. Maybe he has a feline version of that. Does his skin irritate him at all?

Maybe he's just giving himself a Brazilian!

  The shot and medicine seem to be working a treat - he has been drinking a good amount of water and weeing in his sand box. I am watching him carefully and distract him when I catch him pulling out the tufts.....I have only caught him once today!!

He is tearing around the house like a windup toy!!!!!

Its normally stress/boredom that creates habits like those. You mentioned he may have a UTI, so he may be pulling at hair because of discomfort. With his background i would keep a close eye and deffo get a urine sample sent off for analysis.

George had huge balls, until i gave him a good groom and found out 50% of him was hair!  he was a dirty stray and never washed except his face, front paws and the white bit on his belly  i never took photos tho!

I showed Bobby the pics and he is VERY proud of his balls.....in fact, he is challenging any cat out there to be as brave as he is and put your best bits forward!!!!!

  Bobby's vet is a little worried about his preening habits.....says it's the first time she has seen this on a kitten his size.....and that this could become a habit    any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening??? He no longer has any matted fur down there but still enjoys pulling tufts out!
