Yes, maybe it is the heat. He cries and I assume he is wanting play (he doesn't want love at these times) but soon seems to get fed up with whatever I offer. He would normally run up and down stairs after the red dot, at the moment he barely even looks it is.

Until I found a cheap supply, it was cheaper to buy a new device, complete with batteries, than it was to buy new batteries!

Alfie seems really bored with everything at the moment, even the flying frenzy fails to keep him interested  :(

if i need to know where they are i just need to jangle its chain and they come running

Denzel & Dexter are both like that too.

She's not colourblind. I tried it Slowly like Shiela said and her eyes followed it. her paw would tap it if it got close enough. She is such a lazy lump  :evillaugh:

Onyx you've given me an idea, I'm going to give the red dot to my sister for her dogs. I've tried my two with it about 10 times, moving it fast, slow on the floor on the wall etc. They can obviously see it but they don't seem inclined to chase.

my dog goes nuts for the red dot - so much that i have to hide it from her, and if i want to play, i have to keep her outside and play upstairs with the cats!

she's fixated by it... - the moment i walk over to the bookshelf (where it is kept), she starts spinning, barking, whining, and trying to bite the floor!!

One of mine is completely uninterested in toys of any kind, including the red dot!

It took me five or six attempts on different days before George caught on to the red dot. Persevere and you should eventually get her to start tapping, once they get that bit the rest follows pretty quickly  :wow:

Am glad she's not the only one then! I might try it slower then.

I don't think she's a dog - she doesn't like tummy rubs!

My immediate thought was colourblindness. If sheilarose's suggestion doesn't work, maybe take her to the vet to check her eyesight.
Cats were once gods; they have never forgotten this, nor have the people they own.

Slowly does it, Emma.  :sneaky:

Drag that dot at a snails pace in front of her and wait... Eventually she won't be able to resist.  :naughty:

I came accross a red dot laser the other day and since Denzel and Dexter were out thought I would give Evie some exercise, but she wasn't interested AT ALL

I HAVE NEVER EVER HEARD OF THIS - a cat that doesn't go mental for it.

OH said I should get her eyes tested

And said thats why she sniffs stuff so much cos she cant see very well... She does sniff a lot. I know she can see, but i thought maybe she's colourblind? Or is she just not into it?
