G;ad Billy's enjoying going out in his pen.  I think all in all it sounds like things are going pretty well.   :)

Bit of an update...
Patch is having trouble getting used to Billy's shouting, bless her.  She gets cross with him and then that makes her anxious.  She seems to like the little Pet Remedy spray I got in her bed / blankets though.  Calms her down pretty well, so will order a bigger spray.  Kitty ( her Mum ) is coping better and has more patience.  Perhaps it comes from being a Mum!  Neutered after Patch and her brothers though, and Patch was neutered as a kitten.

Billy is good with the girls, and backs off from trouble.  He goes out to his pen daily too where he sees Tompuss ( in another pen ).  Tompuss and Billy like each other, but Tom made it obvious at a brief meeting that he doesn't like Billy in HIS pen!!!  :censored:  Gotta love him!  He's more of a people cat really.  ;) :Luv:   We thought they might get on, but maybe in Billy's pen one day.  Or maybe we'll join pens with a closeable cat door.  Will leave that for now though...

It might take two or three months for the spraying to stop CC.  It can take that long for their hormones to settle.   Sounds like he's adapting pretty well - as you say, he's been through a tremendous amount of late, hasn't he?

Thanks, didn't know about the time it took.  Yes, he's been through such a lot, bless him.  He's such a sweet lovable little boy and very affectionate!  He loves his fuss.  :) :Luv:

Night would likely be when he went searching for ladies and did most of his roaming and it will take time for his hormones to die down

Thanks.  Yes, he'll most likely see some of the cats through the window too.

He's still restless at night though, shouting quite a lot and spraying.  Be glad when this settles down.  I've ordered some Citronella spray and Pet remedy spray to try.  Got a Feliway plug-in but that doesn't seem to work on him.  It works well for the girls though.
Must be difficult for him with all that's happened to him recently, and a different way of life.

Billy's been in the garden in his new pen/house this afternoon, and seemed to really like it!  :)  Early days, but looks promising.  He's back indoors with us now enjoying a rest on the settee.

Sending some positive vibes for Billy this morning.

 Awww :thanks:  :Luv:

Vet said it was most likely the tube he had down his throat (like soufflé said) and to give it a few more days.  He seems quite a bit better today so far anyway.  Fingers crossed!

I suspect he wants to go out.

wise to speak to vets.

Misa lost his voice and was croaking away a couple of years ago but was just a sore throat that needed abs but they but they thought it was grass  and ended up with a bill of £500 grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

have learnt that lesson cos they did every test they could!  lupins grass last week cost £12o to have removed plus  xray for something else.

His throat has improved but just had a little cough again.  He's more settled during the day, but started mewing a lot in the evening last night.  Doesn't help his throat really I guess.  He had an antibiotic shot just over a week ago when he was injured, so that may be helping.  Think I'll ring vets and see what they think anyway.

It takes a while for the hormones to get out their systems and sometimes they still retain some behaviors. I think they have a tube down their throat for the anaesthetic so this is likely the cause of the raspy throat. It will likely go away in a few days. Hope he chills out soon!

Had a rough night last night, oh dear.  He still wants to go out, and saw his enemy lurking through the window last night.  Beginning to wonder if the pen will work with that bully around...

He's also got a rough sounding throat.  I had this after my first op so may be that.  Anyone had this with cats?  I'll call vets if he doesn't get clearer anyway.

Thanks!  :)  He was a local feral, but has become more tame with us recently.  We caught him when he got injured and took him to vets for treatment.  Wondered if he'd come back to us after that, but more loving than ever!  I just don't think he's cut out for the wild life.  So he's going to live in safety indoors and out ( when we get a pen for him ).  Hopefully he can come home from vets this afternoon anyway.  So looking forward to that!  :Luv:

Neutering our semi-feral boy Billy tomorrow.  :scared:  Be glad when it's over and he's home...

He's been getting into fights, so taking him on properly.  He's been mewing so much at being kept indoors, but hopefully he'll be more settled after he's been done.
He's such a lovely affectionate all black boy.  :Luv:
