I'm pleased to say that Huckleberry has now been rehomed.  :)

Yes I have tried the feliway plugin but it hasn't made any difference  :(

I suppose you have tried a plug in Feliway,to help calm this situation?

Poor chap! I do hope you are able to find a lovely home for him soon. We are in a similar situation having taken on my SIL's cat as she has moved abroad. Cleo is lovely and affectionate with humans but really doesn't want to share the house with our existing cat!

Is their anyone that can help? Haven't had much of a response from the rescue places I've emailed. Please don't think that I am not aware of the huge problem that cat rescues face regarding the number of cats needing rehoming and I am not taking the rehoming of Huckleberry lightly.  :(

He really is a sweetie and I have emailed all my local rescues with his details. I will continue to send his profile to any rescues nearby because our situation is desperate and he would be so much better off on his own.  :(

What a handsome boy  :Luv2: Good on you for helping him, just a shame he doesn't get on with your cats  :shy:

I know you said you'd prefer the option of direct rehoming but if I were you I'd get him on the waiting lists for as many of the local rescues as possible so at least you have that option when a space becomes available.

Here's a list of rescues in the various Yorkshire areas...

Hi,
Please see below details of a cat that we desperately need to rehome as
soon as possible. Huckleberry is a stray cat that we have been feeding
for several months so his background is unknown.
He used to live in our porch but has recently started coming into the
house. This has caused major problems with our other cats as he is
aggressive towards them and the situation is becoming impossible.

We managed to catch him and get him to the vets so he has now been
neutered. We were hoping that this would alleviate the problem but he is
still aggressive towards our cats despite all our attempts to stop this
behaviour. We really have tried everything we can and don't know where
else to turn.

I was wondering if any recues could help? We could use the Direct Rehoming option whereby you
could assess the new owners and carry out a homecheck. Then you or the
new owners could collect Huckleberry from here to take to his new home.
We are willing to donate money towards the cost of rehoming him.

I've attached some photos of him to this message.

Name of cat: Huckleberry

Age: Unknown but approx. 3 - 6 years old.

Sex: Male

Breed: Domestic Short Hair

Markings: Half white and half tabby. The tip of his left ear has been
snipped to indicate that he has been neutered.

Neutered: Yes

Vaccinated: No

Microchipped: No

Health:
His general health is good, he has been recently checked over by a vet.

Indoor/Outdoor:
He is an outdoor cat.

Likes/Dislikes:
He likes lots of attention and loves being cuddled and stroked. He also
likes to play and sit outside in the sun.

Compatibility:
I don't know if he would get on with children as we don't have any and
the same applies to dogs. He is aggressive towards our cats so would be
better off on his own.

Character:
He is a bit timid at first with new people but once he gains your
confidence, he is a very friendly and loving cat. He's quite independent
but also likes lots of attention.
