Thank you for that answer,he kept me awake most of the night,he doesn't seem to always settle(neither do i) I have ordered some Aktivait,which the vet recommended,it's going to be fun trying to give him medication,but i will try my hardest.

Fingers crossed for the results, the yowling could be down to overactive thyroid which, if he gets on with the meds, can be fairly easily rectified  :hug:

Well,he didn't have a scan but had blood taken to test for thyroid and kidneys+they also took a sample of urine(as did my vet!)just got to wait for results.Bonus was,they also cut his nails,i can't do it as he hates being "fiddled with"but he has been great at both visits.

Thank you for answering,i took him to the vet because he just kept crying,he didn't seem to know what he wanted.He does have dementia but i didn't know if this was connected,the vet felt his kidneys and liver,and thought they didn't feel right(think i'm repeating myself!)lol   Amazing,when i brought him home,you would have thought i'd got the wrong cat,i think Charles maybe has healing hands,as he'd-Bryn-just settled down stretching out and relaxing.I'll let you know what they say after the scan.

What was the reason for you taking him to the vets CatGirl? Was he poorly in any way or was it a routine check up with vaccinations etc?

I found this on the feline crf website, http://www.felinecrf.org/diagnosis_urinalysis.htm#proteinuria - it seems that protein in the urine can sometimes be an early indicator of kidney problems so if it is related to the kidneys it could be that you've caught it early, I guess you'll know more after a scan. Did the vet say anything about blood tests? My cat had kidney issues and never had a scan, only blood tests.

Hello,could some one please tell me why a cat could have too much protein in his urine,also what harm could it do? My vet thinks his kidneys don't feel quite right,so he tested his urine,and i'm taking him for a scan tomorrow. Thank you for any answers.
