What a delight to see the amazing bond these two have. My daughter was the same with her cat Kennedy. We used to call him the nurse cat! It will colour her whole life and all the better for it.
Get well soon DD xx

all weekend she's been at most a foot away from dd, think the paramedic scared bella a bit of friday as she was cowering under the table when he was seeing to dd. I shut her downstairs as normal on a night and she just cries until i let her sleep outside dd's room  :Luv:

Now isn't that just the tonic a poorly person needs?   :wow: :Luv:    Glad to see Nurse Bella was taking her duties very seriously and keeping - a very close eye - on her patient.  :Luv2:

Thank you, bella is amazing she really has helped dd cope with losing barney. She fits so well into our family I cant help but think barney had a paw involved somewhere. Cant believe we've had her for nearly a year, its a year tomorrow since we lost barney time goes so fast

I don't know why but I've not been on this thread for ages and reading it today has given me a lovely warm fuzzy feeling.  :)

Fabulous pics and its lovely to see how well Bella and your daughter get along.  Also so sweet that she sent Barney a balloon.

What adorable photos! It's lovely to see how well Bella and your daughter get along. It certainly seems like Bella is helping to heal the hurt of Barney's passing.

The nose to nose photo is just perfect.

it really is amazing how well they get on, dd loved Barney and he loved her but he did scratch her a few times when he'd had enough. Bella on the other hand has never once scratched her and they completley adore each other. dd does still talk about Barney and sent him a balloon the other week to play with (she let it go to his star) but shes always saying barney did a good job helping her pick bella. At the moment shes training bella to be more dog and has taught her to sit (only when she has a bowl of food in her hand mind) chase things and fetch and bella is putting up with it so well, although she drew the line at rolling over, even when dd demonstrated it

Just gorgeous!  :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

She's really filled out hasn't she  :)

That photo made us realise that she may well be looking very loved (dh said tubby) so think we're going to cut back on her treats a bit as she is a small cat and being overweight cant be doing her any favours. Think they run a weight clinic at the vets so may take her just to check

and hasn't pippa grown in hardly any months!

i was wondering whether we could use the last pic of bella and pippa nose to nose (or others) in our photo archive? which would mean it might go on the website or be used in publications. totally up to you.

I really cant believe how much bella and dd get,  its really lovely to see them having fun together and i dont have to worry about bella or dd hurting each other as bella is such a softie she wouldnt lay a paw on pippa and pippa is so gentle with bella

What lovely pics  :) Sounds like Bella has fitted in just perfectly  :Luv2: Did the vet say what 'grade' the heart murmur was? They're normally graded 1-6 with one being the mildest. My childhood cat was the biggest, strongest, healthiest cat I'd ever seen and he had a heart murmur - it never caused him any issues whatsoever as it was a low grade one.

Quick update, bellas had her 2nd jabs and the vet said the heart murmur is there but he thinks shes had it all her life but that shes well in herself so to try not to worry too much and take her back if she has any issues. Pippa told the vet all about barney being in the stars and that she misses him and says hi to his star, but barney wouldnt want her to be sad and that he'd like it that bella makes her happy. I was nearly in tears and the nurse looked like she had a tear i think with the help of bella she is getting there. Even dh has started fussing over her so i think shes making a place in his hear too

glad to hear she is being spoilt!
hopefully the heart murmer is a slight one, our vet does check them before neutering so I am assuming it can't be too noticable (although i know its easy to be anxious especially when you lost Barney too soon).

its really great to hear how Bella has helped to heal the hurt with your daughter, you are both a good advert for finding room for a cat in your life  :)

attached is a picture of bella when she was here and another of her two kittens that i think were both rehomed already when you met Bella. One of our volunteers is a photographer and she couldn't resist taking a photo of Bella and her little ones.
