Brilliant!

Now I think we need to see some pics of the wanderer!

Great news! Algernon has just walked up to the back door.

A bit thinner, a bit timid but otherwise ok.

No-one could be happier than we are now....Thank you everybody for your concern.

I look forward to posting here with more, and less stressful, moggie related stuff.

 :thanks:  ;D

Hiya. Thank you for asking, but nothing yet. Even after two solid days of walking the streets and leafleting. We've posted hundreds of leaflets through people's doors and everyone we've spoken to has been lovely.

We have had two unconfirmed, but positive sounding sightings, though so hopefully all is not lost.

We've circulated details to all of the local vets and he is chipped.

Still worried, but with fingers crossed.
x

Is there any news on Algy? If he is old and a bit scruffy looking (due to the hyperthyroid) then I would make sure all the vets in the area have his details as if someone comes across him and thinks he is poorly they're more likely to take him to a vets than a fit and healthy looking cat.

Algy please come home

You need if possible to check on houses closest to see if owners are at home and that he hasnt not got locked in outbuildnings and garages.

Hope you find him soon

Hi there.

Thank you for the advice...we are still hunting. There is a loft conversion thing going on up the road, but it is very high and I'm not sure he'd make it up there. We have leafleted them anyway.

And the AWOL cat is called Algernon.....he answers to Algy.

The hunt continues...

Hello Beaker and welcome to Purrs.

Sorry to hear your cat (what's his name?) has gone awol but don't dispair. Are there any building sites or renovations going on nearby - somewhere he might have wandered into and got locked in?

If you haven't already, have a read of this excellent advice: http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,305.0.html

Lots of people on this board have been through the same experience (I once lost a cat for a fortnight!) so we're all here for you.

Is he microchipped?

Hi all.

This is for anyone in the B43 area of Farnham Close/Gorse Farm, Great Barr, Birmingham.

One of our cats did not come home last night and we are getting worried. They are never out all night so it is quite out of character.

He is a 14yr old black cat with quite a few white hairs and a green collar. He is slightly underweight as he has a hyperactive thyroid for which he is taking medication.

Please if anyone can help or has any suggestions then I would greatly appreciate it.

We have asked neighbours to check outbuildings etc and have been putting flyers through doors already.

His friends Cosette, Heathcliff and Merlin are worried too.

Thankyou.
