Latest update is that Harry is completely clear of any FELV, the blood results that he had earlier this month were inconclusive, and were showing antigens of felv, but negative for the virus. Glasgow requested another blood to be taken and that has now come back negative, so My little boy is all good.

Hi Helen, he is doing well, mad as a hatter. Still not had anymore blood results back, so fingers crossed. It's been 11 of the 21 days now so hopefully good news.

He is currently asleep on my lap.

Pete went and picked little Harry up this evening, lovely to have him home, he isn't so happy to be shut in one room, but we let him out of room when the others are shut in somewhere else.
Maneuveres........

Will find out the test result at the end of the week. Fingers and paws crossed for our sweet little lad.

what a worry, one of mine has calic and has had two flare ups when we first got him - when I wanted to add to the brood I spoke with my vet and his attitude was that many carry calic and never have flare ups so anyone new coming in could have it anyway

hope the fiv thing comes back ok

Thanks Teresa, he is a lot brighter I've just got back from seeing him, temp down, and cuddly and playfull.

The rescue lady has rang the vets and told him that Harry was tested for FIV, 1st test was positive 2nd negative, Vet is going to do a test today to send to Glasgow.

The only reason he was tested before was because he was the easiest to handle out of the litter.

I am going to arrange to get My other 3 tested this week, they have never been tested to my knowledge.

Limpy leg syndrome is typical calicivirus;when it hits the first leg poor kitten is in agony, it goes round all legs but gets milder with each one until you dont really notice the last. It can be contagious.

Vet doesn't think its that now, because it usually occurs a few days after vaccination. He had his final kitten one about a month ago.

Don't know whats made him like this, suspect Calicivirus of some sort, don't know much about that.

I did wonder if i was something to do with Wordy and his sore gums, although he had most teeth out, he still has 2. They were getting to the play fighting stage.

Hope this is he end of it.

Harry is brighter this morning, temp has come down a bit, and he has eaten, no limping today on either leg.

Vet wants to keep him in for another 24 hours to keep an eye on his temp.

Be very happy to have him home, how can such a little thing make such an impact on your home? Wordy keeps looking for him to play.

I'm going to see him at 11ish, will try not to cry when I have to leave him behind!!

Thankyou girls. Something to do with vaccinations, but he had those a month ago. It may be where he had his neuter last Friday then moved house 2 days later, brought out the symptoms of the flu. Hopefully get a phone call soon from vets, I came out of he vets this morning, could feel myself welling up. Pete stayed with him.

My poor little Harry has been poorly, high temp, lethargic, and last night limping on his front left leg, we took him to the vets, and he was given a good exam, and a Covenia jab and Metacam jab.

We brought him home to have some rest, and this morning his limp had moved to the right leg, the vet couldn't suss it out so we had to leave him with them.

He rang us up a little later and told us it was Feline Limping Syndrome. He still has a high temp, but is more sparky today.

Luckily Harry is a loving little chap and was very good at the vets.

Home tomorrow hopefully. What an impact a little cat can have on a household in the space of a week.
