I can only echo what JS has posted, and I am so sorry for your loss, and so very sorry I missed your post in the first place

My Hamish was Diagnosed with CRF and was the reason I joined Purrs, Sadly I only had 5 more days with him and it was a complete shock

I still haven't got over the fact hat I never even noticed He was ill

But you have done the right thing, and Furdie is in a better place now free from pain

Oh Sylvia. Don't be sorry. You did everything you could, and Furdie lived his life to the limit, right till the very end.

Your bravery in holding on till he needed your help to leave for the Bridge is an inspiration to us all.

I'm so sorry

Furdie lost his fight yesterday morning when the vet put him to sleep

The change in him was so quick that there was nothing else that we could do for him.

This morning was a beautiful sunny day, and I thought how much Furdie would have loved to go out in it, and now he won't be able to again

Furdie was a fighter and lived 6 months longer than the vets predicted. He loved life but in the end his kidney's just could not cope.

We will miss him so much.

I have some really good news

Furdie is enjoying the comforts of home again

When I spoke to the vet this afternoon, he said that Furdie was bright and his results had improved since being on the IV fluids

We are so pleased and relieved to have him back with us.

to everyone for all the vibes for Furdie. They are definitely working

We had to go to the vets for Charlie's annual MOT and vaccination, and for another blood test for Sweepy tonight, so I was able to visit Furdie while we were there

Furdie has been eating and drinking well today, the drip is running OK, and the nurse reported that he seems very bright in himself and loves attention

I can only agree, because that was how he was with me - I got to give him lots of extra head kisses

Funnily enough, after the nurse brought him a bowl of the extra munchies that I had taken in for him tonight, he lost all interest in the head kisses

I suppose I've always realised that my place in Furdie's affections is quite a long way below a bowl of food

- but long may it continue.
