After seeing (well, more accurately hearing) The General at about 11 last night when I'd just been to put some biscuits in an unset trap I figured there was little chance of seeing him today. (I was right, he's not shown himself at all....)
The rescue are already asking for their trap back, which isn't great.

I'll get there....
Liz, thanks for the tip. I'd actually already learned of the sneaky KFC trick after watching a rather enthusiastic American lady. She advises to tie a drumstick in the trap so the cat can't "grab and run" so there's a frozen Southern Fried Chicken drumstick in my freezer waiting to be put into action.
EDIT: Allison, yup, Lorcan had it tough....but look at his life now.

(I was so enamored with the little lad when I first read about him I started up email contact with the rescue and was asked if I'd be interested in offering him a home. I wanted to but after discussing it with someone less emotive than me realised that Darwin may be a little too gung-ho to share a home with a blind cat. He's very happy with Maureen, who WAS his foster but I think is now permanent, and Leo his litter mate.)
