Licking paws is a very common sign of food allergy in dogs. My dog did this but when a moved him on to James Wellbeloved with no additives he stopped it alltogther. Food colourants are bad for these allergies.

A few years ago the vet gave her some capsules which were to make her 'relax' he could find nothing physical at all. She loves her food (well the ones she likes at the moment) and is a bit of a porker. Oh and she likes to lick the underside of her back paws.

Perhaps it is something some Siamese cats do.

I would say you need to see a vet again. It could be a food allergy or there are certain skin tumours hat secrete histamine making the skin very itchy meaning she will lick and lick there. If she seems otherwise happy and content then I would certainly look for a physical, localised cause for her to like this patch.

I honestly don't know what she is stressed about. She could purr for Britain, we talk to her constantly, she has all the toys she could possibly want and we play with her etc.

If its stress, then the cause needs to be found and if she is insured ask you vet to refer you to a good behaviourist

Yes, she has loads and loads of toys a climbing frame, very good food, is spoiled, fussed over, cuddled and kissed, sleeps under the duvet either with me or my daughter. She wants for nothing. :-:

Yes she went to the vet the other year they said that she had no mites or anything such like she was comfort licking.

Coco has started her excessive licking again. She has no fleas and her skin is lovely except where she licks (inside of thigh) she is spoiled and is never alone. Help.
