this can be a sign of an underlying disorder so a vets visit is indeed i order to rule things out. my pkd cat has a habit of nibbling bits of cat litter which is apparently something that can happen in PKD (kidney diease) along with other diseases.
it may be something simple but it may not, either way puss needs a professional opinion on this one.

Firstly go to vets with cat (insurance should cover it ) vet can advise and prescribe necessary vitamins/minerals required and also advise on which is the best diet for your cat.
Hope she soon recovers

Hi Teresa Pawcats... I thank to you but can you elaborate what type of proper diet should I recommend to my friend?

Hello and Welcome, the eating of small stones can be rectified with proper diet as it is likely a vitamin/mineral deficiency.

Am sure the CAT INSURANCE LINK can be helped by a moderator.

My friend's female cat has taken to eating small stones. He have tried a lot to deter her but no improvement. Is there any method or medication that his cat become normal?
