My (now sadly passed away, due to old age I hasten to add) lovely male cat sparky used to crunch wasps(!) out of the air and eat them

Could well have been a queen. They tend to come in at this time of year to look for somewhere to hibernate. I remember one in the front room a couple of years back, which was almost the size of a mouse. I thought she was lovely, but neither OH nor The Munchkin thought so- it was funny to see them both standing on their respective chairs, refusing to come down until she had gone!

It was quite big and from a hive. Wondering if it was a queen :shify: It wasn't a furry bumble bee

Its strange Parki is not at all bothered with bluebottles or other flies :-:

She is very partial to moths though

Hamish Used to Like a Nibble on the old Blu Bottlers, but for some reason, He stayed a good paws distance away
from the Bumble bee's, and would just sit and watch them, sometimes the urge would get the better of him and
He would raise a paw for a swipe, but always at the last second would change his mind  :scared:

Glad Parki's ok  ;)

Norti Parki frightening her mum like that.      Glad no harm was done to either cat or bee.  ;D

I used to have a cat who caught and ate wasps and she never seemed to get stung (or if she did it didn't bother her).     She ate bluebottles as well and the crunch they made when she bit into them made me feel  I did feed her honestly

Parki tried to eat a bee

I came home from shopping and could see Parki was patting something. As I got closer I could see it was a bee which she then put it in her mouth before I could grab her :hairrasin:

Thankfully she spat it out when I screamed and was not stung :-[

I then managed to rescue bee :)

I was a bit surprised as she is 11 and not a little un :-:
