So sorry to hear your awful news

One of my friend's cats has cancer in what by the sounds of it is in a similar place to Smartie. When the lump first came up they operated and removed as much as possible then he had chemotherapy. This all started around March time and although the lump has grown back for the time being he seems to be doing OK.

I have bad news
Smartie  has nose cancer , it's in the tissue and the bone and quite advanced , the vet says its hopeless and nothing he can do , I think it's a matter of a few weeks . :'( :'(
I am absolutely devastated, he is the most wonderful natured and loving cat that loves his cuddles.

Thanks everyone.
There is no change -to be honest , he looks like Mike Tyson has punched him on the nose and its resulted in a black eye as well -its just swollen  :scared:

He is now going in on Wednesday for a x ray (heart scan at the same time as he has a enlarged heart -thats why i am worried sick over the anasethetic ) and a needle up his nose to draw the fluid out and see if they can find out what it is .

Just spoken to the vet and he is going next Friday for x ray and a needle to see if he can drain some fluid from his nose.
I could have had it done Monday, but have to go out Tuesday and Thursday ,so I wanted be in for a few days after to keep an eye on him.
Hope I have done right in waiting till then, but if I think he needs to go sooner I will ring them.
The main vet isn't in every day though and I trust him so wouldn't let another one do it.
Do you think I should have it done earlier ?
I am afraid of the anaesetic too , but the vet said I shouldn't worry and he would do it if it was his cat to see if it will help and what it is.

Thanks everyone.
There is no change in the swelling ,he has been on Antirobe almost a week now ,am waiting for the vet to ring to see if anything else can be given -otherwise he will go on meloxidyl (sp)?
My sister went back yesterday and everything just got on top of me and i spent the whole day on and off crying .

The vet doesn''t know what it is either and i don''t want to have him messed about too much due to his heart problem -but his eye seems to be more open this morning -i have bathed with Optrex 3 times a day and put cream in at night- its just the swelling on his nose which is affecting his eye and no-one knows whats causing it -without possibly sedation and a needle up his nose to draw some fluid off which is there.
He is so special and we have had lots of cuddles this morning and hoping it will get better soon.

Sending lots of   for Smartie and his Mum

Just a thought bit sometimes a steroid injectin can help with suspected tumours I know we used them on our late Miss Gracie she had one in her jaw and she had another glorious 9 months at her age we didn't want to do any intervention and she was a wiley old feral girl but tolerated the injections
