I just wish people would stop and really think about the consequences of their actions. Not only has this person injured (almost killed) and scarred a poor defenceless cat, they have caused a huge amount of distress to other people too, the owner of the cat, vets, police, neighbours who were out searching for the cat etc.

I wish they would, just even for a second ask themselves the question "If somebody did the same to me, how would it make me feel?". And then for them to empathise and understand what their behaviour can do to others. It's so sad that we live in a world like this :(

do you think its because they dont love anyone, and they are jealous of the love that an animal gives and the fun that they have,
i would say i feel sorry for these low lifes but i dont waste my energy.

its horrible isn't it? I hate letting Davey out but he's used to going out so it's cruel to make him stay in.
Tinks on the other hand, will not be an outdoor cat methinks... I can't bear to test her out, she's too little and she's far too curious for her own good - the term "curiosity killed the cat" would certainly be true for her.

I feel horrible on poor spike and his owner. I think his owner is now fighting and petitioning against the use of such weapons (will have a look). I read in one article that it was clearly purposely shot at the cat because of the angle it went in. Scary that we live in a world like this, and more so that it happened in my own town :(

I dont understand why they do it - is it because of their own inadequacies ?

Disgusting  >:( Hope he goes on to make a full recovery :care: At least they've arrested someone though, too often these type of attackers go untraced.

This is an article in my local paper this week. Spike was hit with a crossbow bolt which was millimetres away from his brain and major arteries. Surprisingly he survived the injuries and is now recovering back home but is still in considerable pain. This happened in Sutton, St Helens... 2 mins from where I live, frighteningly! A 39 year old was arrested and has been released on bail pending further enquiries!
