In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

Welcome to the forum :)  :welcome:
I hope all goes well with the babies and your teenage mum does well.
I am also in West Yorkshire near Holmfirth (though I'm really a Scottish interloper!)

Thanks all for the welcome.

We've always wanted a cat called Dave. Our older cat Henry came to us from friends who emigrated. He was a perfect Dave since he's a white odd-eyed cat (think Bowie if you're struggling with our reasoning!) but we didn't feel we could change it. Our vet says Dave and Brian are the best human names they've had in for ages. We're even giving Steve the dog a run for his money!

I'm afraid I probably will get quite addicted to the forum, I usually do. Look forward to me hanging around like a bad smell.  ;)

Glad you've found us, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.  It really is a very friendly forum with lots of friendly helpful advice, if ever needed, and of course lots of fun.

I do feel it my public duty to warn you though that it can be a teensy bit addictive  You have been warned  :evillaugh:

Sounds like there's exciting times ahead for you and Dave  :wow: I love the name Dave for a cat, even moreso because she's a girl  :evillaugh:

Hi and welcome, glad you found Dave(!) or she found you before the babies arrived! There are lots of experts here, although I'm not one and I'm sure you will get all the help you need

Hi everyone,

I've just written another post concerning my new cats, but here's me introducing myself officially!

I'm 24 and I live in West Yorkshire with my two newly adopted cats and four gerbils, with another lazy 5 year old tomcat who lives with my parents and younger sister.

I'll be appreciative of lots of advice in the coming weeks as I'm expecting my first litter of kittens from Dave, a little 8(ish) month old calico tabby cat which my 5 year old sister named before any questions arise about her name! David has been with us for a little under a month officially, but has been making a nuisance of herself in the neighbourhood as a stray with her brother Brian for a few months.

Our older tomcat, Henry, has been very patient about having two new cats on his turf which has been a blessing!

Here's hoping for some more good luck...
