My vet friend managed to get this photo...she went to meet him properly, and said he was the sweetest, most adorable old boy.

He's currently in a vets in Nottingham.  Some possible leads to adoption/foster, but nothing solid as yet.  Still awaiting further details/photos of this old guy.  Will update as soon as possible. 
Whatever happens, I won't let him be PTS.

Well i am only 15 mins from Newark (is the vets -animal care clinic?- if so thats my vet ).
Unfortunately i am full here too - but can help with transport  if needed and pick him up from the vets.

The vet, my friend, trying to help home him, is going into the practice this afternoon, so I've asked her to get some photos and as much detail as possible. I will post as and when I know anything.
He's been in the practice just over a week I think (the legal time they have to keep him), but due for PTS Monday.  I won't allow that to happen, and will do what I can short-term.

We can almost definitely get FELV/FIV, thyroid and general bloods tests done on this guy too... he just needs a home!

Hi All,
I am posting on behalf of a vet friend, who had a stray cat brought into her practice over a week ago.
The cat is male and on the older side, and is blind due to detached retina's. This is believed to have been caused by hyperthyroidism being left untreated, causing secondary hypertension and in turn, the permanent damage to the eyes.
It is probable that he will need to be on lifelong thyroid meds to control the problem.
I don’t have any pictures of him, but can try to get more details.
MONDAY 14th FEB is his last day being held, and then sadly, he will be put to sleep.
Anyone able to help, we would appreciate it SO much.
I would have him like a shot, but have already got 11 rescue cats, and simply can’t have any more.
