Thank you yes Tiggy's Mum I think he a tough boy.    He was a stray when we started looking after him and took it months before he would trust us.       He spent a winter outside in a kennel before eventually coming into my kitchen on a very snowy February day.      He spent a lot of time there before being accepted by my raggie who had a hatred of intruders in his territory!!!

Thanks everyone!!!!

well I can report that Ginger had to have the op and had all of his teeth out apart from his bottom two canines.      Vet said there was a case for taking these out as well but he decided not to as he felt Ginger had been under anesthetic long enough, given the murmur.     Also he said cats that don't have any teeth often stick their tongues out all the time so he left him some teeth to rest his tongue against

Ginger is fine and nomming as normal

its almost two years ago that Ginger was diagnosed with lymphoma and given weeks!!!!!!       He is still doing well with the lymphoma and severe heart murmur.          However he has a nasty tooth abscess and is on ABs for this.    Worry is that the AB won't clear up the infection and that he will have to have the tooth out which is a risk given his murmur.      He does seem a lot brighter though than he did on Friday so hoping surgery won't be needed!

thank you everyone.     He's been for a six month MOT.     Vet said his heart sounds dreadful and that he really shouldn't be with us!   His lump although big hasn't changed much in the last six months.     He has lost quite a bit of weight though which isn't good, which shows the lymphoma is having an effect on him [although at moment he's not a thin cat] Vet was overjoyed though to see him looking so well and delighted to be proved wrong at his estimate of two weeks!!!

well I don't want to tempt fate,  but a year since he was taken ill the Ginger Ninja is still with us despite only being given two weeks in January last year.      He still enjoys life [and his food].     He still finds it in himself to chase the red dot and give bunny kicks and bear hugs to the Norwegians.

he is a star  :Luv2:

Thanks everyone

Glad he's doing well Cazzer  :) Where is his lump? My vet mentioned lymphoma when I took Lacie this evening.

I'm not sure which organs are affected now Gillian but he no longer has a wobbly bit underneath its all solid, so its pretty big.

;D  ;D  So pleased to hear this - long may it continue.

My Rosie was given two months max when a mammary tumour regrew rapidly after surgical removal but she actually had 2 quality years befor =e we had to say goodbye which just proves that predicting life-expectancy is very inexact science.

realised that I hadn't updated on the Ginger Ninja for a very long time.       Amazingly he is still with us.       {he was diagnosed with lymphoma in January}!.        His lump is very big now but his quality of life is still good.      He is still eating well and lump doesn't seem to affect him.      Needless to say he is still on steroids and painkillers.     He can still manage to surprise us his latest trick is walking along the top of the bannister .     He also has regular tussles with Karlo and Kyrre.      Vet is amazed that he is still with us.        We feel very lucky but take each day at a time.
