Yep. See if there's any cancellations and explain you're concerned about the impact on her health among other things. Hopefully they'll want to help and let you know if an appointment comes up.

I think it can vary from female cat to female cat but typically every 3-4 weeks  :-:
Here is a info sheet from Feline advisory which mentions it
http://www.fabcats.org/owners/neutering/info.html

As you feel she has started calling, I would contact the pdsa to inform she has come into heat and also discuss the timing of her operation cos think vets may only do the operations at certain times during the cycle. I think I have heard someone say that their vet would only spey two weeks after the cat had stopped calling.

I have already paid for the op at the PDSA and also the microchip to be done at the same time too. I will just make sure she doesnt get out. So how long are they on heat for? And how often do they cycle? Thanks xx

Try contacting Cp HQ and see if they will give you a neutering voucher, it will be able to be used at most ordinary vets.

Yes definately sounds like she is in heat so be extra vigilant with the doors and windows as she will try everything to get out and you may find that you have plenty of restless nights due to her calling for a mate.  It will be basically continual now until she is either done or caught by accident.

Well looks like 4 weeks restless nights for you but would try and explain the situation, they more than likely did Elvis as it is so much quicker than spaying a female so could squeeze him in better.

She does sound as if she is coming in to season. She will likely try everything to get out and find a husband now. Perhaps if you explain the situation to the clinic they could try and fit her in now especially if you say you are worried about her getting pregnant?

He is fine :)  A little spaced out still from the ketamine etc. I boiled him some chicken :):)

I just wanted to ask....its about Miki. I have never had a female kitten.. our old rescue cat anna was already neutered etc...

Mikki is booked in for the 3rd of March (thats the only date they had left)

However the vets are saying she is 6 months old. Today she has started being more vocal then usual and kind of yeowling constantly super loudly.... shes rubbing off of everything and anyone (which is unusual for her shes usually very timid as shes not quite used to us yet). Whe you go to stroke her she starts her vocalness again and lies on the floor with her tail to the side and her bum etc kinda in the air. Is she presenting herself? Is she in season? Sorry for the silly question but I dont know what a cat being in season is like.

:) I hope so :)

I took Miki for her check up on Monday... Theres a waiting list though and she isnt booked in to be spayed until the 3rd of March. At least with Elvis done there will be no chance of kittens running about :)

Tomorrow morning Elvis goes in for castration :(

I took him for a preliminary check up at the local PDSA... and the vet told me there was a cancellation for tomorrow morning! I did not expect it to be so soon.
I know its a simple procedure but I am gonna be so worried about him. My wee boy :(

I hope hes talking to me after this  :shify:
