:( I completely understand people's circumstances change, but surely most people are aware they are going to start a family at some point? Given that women only have a limited number of years to do so, it's not rocket science to work out you will still have your kitten or puppy then.  >:( It's not that difficult for most households to keep a cat and child apart, might involve babygates and/ or installing a catflap in a different door or window. At the very least find your furballs a safe, loving forever home.
:'( My beautiful Noah rescued 13/02/09, adopted 11/10/09, taken 11/02/11 :'( You deserved so much more.

I totally understand - and as a web person, I should have realised about the Google rankng! :-[

I read the rules again - properly this time! Most forums' rules are pretty generic which is why I didn't read the Purrs' ones very thoroughly, my bad!

Hi Jezebel

Steff is right, one of the reasons we don't allow the g**tree links etc on Purrs is because it unwittingly advertises the site in question for them and makes them higher on google searches etc when they shouldn't be allowed to 'sell' animals in the first place  :(

Its ok Gill, I wasn't trying to dispute it was in the rules but I also thought that if we posted about the site on here it would in someway benefit them which of course we don't want :D

I think one of the reasons your not allowed to mention the name is because it in some way helps up its ranking on google searches or something like that and of course we don't want to help promote the site. I maybe slightly off the mark and my explanation wasn't great so hopefully a mod can explain in more detail.

I know a lot of members check the free ad sites regularly and have even managed to get help with seriously bad situations. Some purrs members even have "free ad cats" that have been saved.

JackSpratt actively tries to help free ad advertisers find suitable homes for their cats and has even campaign to get the advertising of animals bands on one of the free sites.

It is definitely very sad and worrying...especially the amount of unneutered female with ads highlighting that they could be used for breeding or just have one litter.

Sometimes it seems like all the hard work rescues and purrs members are doing is being cancelled about by some of the bad things that go on within the free ad sites :(

Sorrry Jezebel this site is not allowed to be posted on Purrs and not even its name is allowed to be mentioned, as stated in the rules of Purrs.

I am therefore deleting the link and taking out the name in the title.

I assume this is pretty common, people advertising their unwanted pets on xxxx? They say they want a "caring home" but how likely is this when they're giving them away to just anyone?

And sadly, it's yet another "had baby, must get rid of cat" story. I can't believe they're dumping these cats after ten years.
