What a beautiful tribute to your very special and handsome boy Kennedy.

I am sure that he is looking down with pride that his lovely family have given two needy kittens a special home. He will always be with you - in your heart

Kennedy - prince amongst cats

Kennedy was the most charming, loving and beautiful cat a family could ever hope to share their lives with. When my daughter was 3 years old she saw a ginger cat on a calendar and it was all she wanted. We searched high and low and eventually found our boy in a foster home with the Cat Rescue, He was the last kitten my husband fished out from behind a washing machine and we knew he was the one for us.
When both my daughter and Kennedy were young she treated him like a toy and he revelled in it. She carried him around, put him in her dolls pram and dressed him up. He never scratched or bit her or even hissed! They has a special bond and an understanding.
He was her constant and devoted companion who saw her through all her exams with flying colours, keeping her warm, sitting on her knee or sitting behind her computer in the fan vent watching her.
Kennedy loved everyone and everyone loved him. He brought so much fun and joy to us and he shared this with the whole neighbourhood. All the school kids stopped to pet him and he enjoyed waiting in the drive for them. He brought up puppies, kept adult dogs in line and watched over hamsters. He was a calm, kind and gentle cat who had a certain 6th sense about illness. When anyone or any creature was ill he would spend all his time lying with them, warming and comforting. We called him the nurse cat. You knew you were getting better when he chose to leave you.
He was taken ill suddenly in November 2010. We tried and tried, with the vet, to save him but he had heart disease and he just could not make it. How we wished for once we could turn the tides and nurse the nurse cat and bring him home. In the end his eyes pleaded with us and we let him fly free with his lifelong companion again, Cidie, who left us in June. He was twelve and a half but he never seemed that age.
He seemed eternally young, beautiful and handsome, our glowing ginger tiger and so full of life and compassion. Thank you Kennedy – it has been an honour and a privilege to share your life. You were so very much loved. Please wait for us and while you do nurse all the little needy creatures at the bridge and snuggle close with Cidie again.
We miss you
