UPDATE OWNER HAS COME FORWARD A MAN THAT LIVES DOWN THE ROAD KITTEN HAS BEEN RETURNED

Hopefully he looks after her properly and the "skin and bone" description was an exaggeration

Apparently the lady with the poor little cat has said she will get some proper cat food...but considering she was refusing to go to the vet I don't know if she will.

I'm up in Newcastle, otherwise I'd go round and take the poor thing myself, and am simply posting here because the person posting on Cat Chat (not the lady with the cat, someone the lady with the cat contacted for help - how confusing am I making things?!) didn't have any joy on there...so there's a bit of a chain here I'm afraid, hence the sketchy info.

The lady has said she will keep the cat in her daughter's room for tonight, so not quite as urgent tonight, but not sure what the plan is tomorrow. Apparently she has now changed her description of the cat to "ok", rather than underweight, so maybe the underweight description was an attempt to get someone out straight away to collect the little puss?

I've asked the person posting on Cat Chat if the lady with the cat knows now not to feed the cat dairy - I shook my head at that too.

If anyone can help or knows of anyone else who can help please do let me know...

I agree re the milk and meant to mention that, many cats and kittens are lactose intolerant and can't digest cows milk if that's what is being given

It may be worth a try asking Pauline at Wellcat Rescue, she is based in Quinton.  Telephone number 0121 426 5594, I know she will be very busy as usual, but worth a try

She can at least advice you even if she cannot take it in.  The one thing I would not recommend is milk.  The cat needs urgent professional medical attention if it is as bad as they are saying tonight.  If they are failing to do that they could be reported for cruelty.

Apparently the people who have taken the kitten in are adamant that they can't keep him/her overnight and are refusing to take it to a vet - they just want someone to collect him/her NOW.

I really hope someone can help this poor little puss.

I do hope that someone can help, the kitten should be taken to a vet asap I would think,  they can go downhill very quickly.

"Hi all i need some help urgently just had a call from someone who has had a young kitten less than 6months hiding under her car for 3 nights looks really dehydrated skin and bone was her words, he/she isnt wearing a collar. They have managed to bring the cat inside and give it some milk, she being kept in a carboard box as the finders have dogs, they can't keep her over night. Can anyone take her in. My information is that she is underweight and looks like shes been slung out. Please help ! Posted in lost and found the info i know so far!"
