luckily my vet is more down to earth than me lol! his first thought was fleas second food, she said lets try the simple things first and he was right!

I'm the same, always thinking the worst rather than ruling out the simple things first!

she seems to do it after she eats it could just be a coincedence of course because that is when I am around to see her do it - if you call her and fuss her she seems to forget its hyperesthesia I am thinking of but hope I will find out more tomorrow

who did you have the problem with Mark??

None of them - I just meant that reading your post, I guessed hyper-t before I got to the bit where you said you thought it might be that. Hopefully not though.

My Gwynnie does this - but only certain times of the year - like about this time of year. She's been doing it the past few weeks. I checked her coat and - oops, found flea dirt! Hope its something simple like that with Amber

I thought the same as you before I got to the end of it. Hopefully it isn't that, but at least you know it can be controlled or treated

she is off the vet monday night (only chance I can get to see the owner) the last few weeks she has had bouts of really odd behaviour her skin on her back ripples and she starts running around like a looney like she is trying to leave her skin behind - I don't think she is in pain because if you distract her she stops and will tolerate firm stroking in the area on her back, I've a horrible feeling it might be that hyper thing that maddiesmum charlie has  :( :(
