I wish I had known you could have popped in for a coffee Leigh  :)

The vet who set up St Peter's Road left High Street because of their prices, and a few other things, and set up his own practice.

How is Dylan today?

Yes I know the one you mean... funny as when we got our two we went and looked on the website and had a nose inside the one on St Peters Rd, But decided as we didn't drive it would be easier and reassuring to go with Rainsbrook on Craven Road as we live just round the corner.  But as I have recently found out most stuff is done at the High Street one, (like it was yesterday) So that idea is pretty pointless!! Ranted all the way home about going to St peters road now.. plus OH thinks its a good idea as its on the way to the pub

I can feel him dropping them off more often... and all of a sudden he'll start saying things like "Oooh Dylan's been a bit quiet today, i think he needs a check up, I'll book a day off tomorrow" I think not!!!!!

Hi Leigh

I used to be with Rainsbrook, the one on High Street, as they are only two doors away. I had a few issues with them recently plus they have increased their prices again!!!

I now use the vet off St Peter's road. they are really nice and a lot cheaper. They have a website if you want to check them out.

:thanks: Desley that makes me feel better! Just wish they could have explained it a bit better, some vets have a way of making it seem casual- which I suppose to be fair is their job! I was just being an silly nervy mummy :)

That sounds normal for a cat needing an anaesthetic - the way it works at my vets, you drop them off before consults start, sign the form, have them weighed etc, then after all the consults are done, they do anything that needs anaesthetics, then they have time to come round and eat before the vet will allow them to come home - when Tiger was up the ohter week, if the sedation had worked, I could have had her home at 2ish, but as she needed an anaesthetic and was wobbly when she came round, I had to wait till 4 before the vet would allow her to come home. As I work 9-5 normally, all mine normally have to wait till 5.30, the last couple have been lucky that I was off so could pick them up earlier. You are normally allowed to feed them until anytime between 6 and 9 in the evening though, my vets say 8pm.
Please spay your cat

Thank you again everybody....  :)

I use Rainsbrook... Hope I'm allowed to say!... Now I've had a think I'm not too mad. I dropped him off at about 8:30-9:00, the vet checked him over, I signed a bit of paper then re arranged an appointment to pick him up, to which I was told would be about half four-ish, when I got home I had a think and 7 and a half hours seemed a long time so I just assumed they wanted him to have a good rest after he woke up or something. But when I phoned after lunch to see how he was I was told he wouldn't be done for a while as they were busy???

Am I over reacting or do they need them in earlier to ensure they are healthy enough for anaesthetic?? I was just being a worrying mummy as he hadn't eaten since yesterday afternoon... the first thing he did when he came in was run upstairs to his box for a wee, must have been too shy! Plus I only paid for an hour of his hair-trimming session so its not as if it was a lengthy operation etc x

  blah blah rant rant!  :boxer:

 :cuddle:

Thank-you all, it's great to be back, (if you know what I mean!) The nice warm feeling of home!

Dylan's back, bit annoyed with the vets to be honest but think I need a sleep to think about it, then a rant tomorrow - maybe on another thread!!Well in my opinion he was there too long, but I can understand how busy they were...(nearly!).. Or maybe I'm just being an overly protective thingy..? Listen to me I'm ranting... stop me!!!!!!!

Off to bed to give him a cuddle me thinks... Dylan that is not OH!!!!!  ;)

Hope Dyl is home soon and he looking handsome with his new haircut.
I was very lucky with the Giz monster with a few of his matty bits in his pit at the vets last week. I thought he would go balstics but he just flopped in my arms while the vet clippers them off. Not one cry at all. Very English you know shaving under the arm pits

 :thankyou: again- fellow Rugbian!!!

Dylan is at the vets today as his fur needs clipping in a few places, He loves being brushed just about anywhere except his back paws and legs, so the fur is looking a bit knotted in a few places. The vet recommended a little de-matting which would involve anaesthetic, a bit worried as its his first time, (ex the snip!) But more importantly its their first time apart so poor Smudge is following me round the house looking for him  :(

Took the opportunity to try and do some more work on our house when CC went! But I've ran out of money now so will be able to get my kitty-life back !

Dylan and Smudge-cake are great really big and fat now, its strange how they have grown up, or out!   :)

Hope both of your clan's are well x

Well I have been hovering for a little while and thought I would make my entrance now... if a little slow and out of practice! Its a bit fancy round these parts! :)

I am smudge and Dylan's representative/PA/slave, of who were previously called Bryan and Doogle from their Auntie Angie (helloo).

I will post photo's sometime in this millennium as still tech-disaster! Lovely to be back recognise a few faces and names x
